I'm not relaxing until we are mathematically safe.

I remember when West Ham had no chance of staying up as they had to play at champions Manure on the last day and win.

Yep, and when Everton were 2-0 down at home to Wimbledon on the last day of the season and needed to win to stay up.

And when the Baggies were bottom at Christmas and no team had ever escaped from that situation.

And when the Blues were safe as houses the year they won the League Cup.

It's absolutely true to say that stranger things have happened!!

Defeat against Spurs - draw at Norwich.  Will we go down - No.  A season like must NEVER be allowed to happen again.

Yep it is feasable that we could go to Norwich needing to equal or better the results of QPR and Bolton. What is certain is that we cant be relegated until the last day of the season. I hope it does not come to that.

Agree with you both and the last thing I want is to be going to Carrow Road  and having to keep an eye/ear out for other results.  I want to enjoy the weekend.  Damn it, I will enjoy the weekend.  I understand there's an excellent pub lined up.

I think theres a pretty good chance we'll go into the last game level on points with other sides vying to miss out on the last spot.

I don't think we'll get anything from spurs. We've lost - and been beaten out of sight really for the most part - home and away against all the top sides this yr with the exception of Chelsea who were very vulnerable at the time.

I can see Bolton getting 3 pts from 2 games, and the form book suggests qpr should beat stoke at home (they've won 4 on the bounce against top sides and stoke have been poor away tho obviously they got a point from us). Wigan look most likely to be safe

I'll be cheering city pretty fervently tonight!!  We should be ok but the combination of results needed is much more likely than some of the other results of late

A few weeks ago, I didn't care who won tonight.  Now with QPR having to go to Man City, it'll be great for us if Man City won tonight.

The difference here was that Man U were already champions and had their flip flops on.  When QPR go to Man City ont he last day, I doubt they would already be crowned.

Agree, if Man City avoid defeat tonight it's highly likely that the title will still be decided on the last day anyway which is great news for us as City will go all in guns blazing against QPR. After yesterday's rubbish display by QPR, it could be 5 or 6 goals Man City score.

As i see it Blackburn now won't finish above us barring some really ridiculous score lines.  Even if we lost both games 3-0 and they won both theirs 3-0, that still wouldn't be enough.  So I'm relaxed about them.

That just leaves us needing to stay above one of Wigan, Bolton or QPR.  I can see Wigan finishing above us, but there are question marks over the other two in terms of the game in hand (Bolton) and what Man City will have to play for (QPR).

I think things will be clearer by midweek.

If Stoke do QPR next weekend it'll all be over on Sunday night bar the crowing. Bolton and Wigan can go above us now, it makes no difference. Blackburn are gone, it's QPR to watch now, forget the others.
