I'd be happy for Wigan to beat Blackburn.

Why? Blackburn can't catch us unless they score a shit load of goals.

True i suppose but after the season we've had, i'm not bothered who finshes above us as long as we're safe.

Wigan don't matter, you couldn't ask for a better last game than Wolves at home tbh.

I think wolves could beat them. What they did yesterday was amazing.

Forget Wigan, they have wolves at home last day of the season. BBurn cant catch us.
QPR have to get 4 points from 2 and Bolton 4 points from 3 to over take us, either team failing this means we stay up.
Can we get the banners out now?

Does nobody ever read anything I write or should I be paranoid?
Its just that there have been some confusing posts, I was trying to make it clear.

It sucks to say it but there's no credit to be had for Villa for finishing 15th, 16th or 17th, just that we're not relegated. As long as we survive, I don't give a shite at the moment.

OK. Assumed it was only Blues fans who could not read a league table without getting confused.

I think we can beat Spurs next Saturday. Today they dominated a very poor Blackburn side but weren't that convincing overall - that's not to say we're any great shakes, but Spurs aren't great away having lost to QPR recently. Also, I think there's more chance of us beating Norwich away than QPR beating Man City away. QPR were absolutely rubbish today.

We play Spurs on Sunday, and they play again oop north on Wednesday. A point will do it!

I know today's results have gone as well as they could've done but we shouldn't be putting our feet up just yet.

Plenty on here expect QPR to beat Stoke at home next weekend.  Almost as many expect we won't beat Spurs.  Assuming Bolton get 3 points out of either Spurs or Baggies at home over the next 7 days then we go in to the final day of the season needing a win at Norwich to be sure of survival.  Something about 1% of Villa fans expect us to do!

We need 3 points to make certain and I really, really, really hope we can get them next Sunday.

I couldn't agree more with your first point. False sense of security would be dangerous. I reckon a point against Spurs would probably see us safe though.

Even if Spurs hammer us (which they won't), I still won't be losing any sleep.

QPR won't get a sniff at Manchester City. And whatever Bolton do, it won't matter. Because Blackburn and QPR are going down.

QPR will finish on somewhere between 34 and 37 points. So a point somewhere will guarantee us safety. And we might not even need that unless we get serious tonked by both Spurs and Norwich.

Now Rednob looks secure at Spuds they may pick up. VP has been an awful place for us this season, and I can't see it getting better for our last game. A draw is realistic, don't think we'll win though.

You're right of course, but do any of us really want to be going to Norwich knowing that anything less than a win could end with us going down?  I'd rather we just put Spurs to the sword then spend the day in Norwich getting pissed and arsing around in fancy dress.  Otherwise, regardless of the likelihood of QPR getting a result at Man City we'll still be bricking it until the full time whistle.

Fair point. It would be nice to be mathematically safe going into the last day.

But if it's a scenario whereby QPR have to win and we need a point on the day to guarantee safety, I still think we'll have a relatively comfortable afternoon.
