I know it's all ifs and buts. But if  Blackburn and QPR lose today then we need one more point to be safe.

Home fans against Spurs need to get behind the team in a big way.

This is really important. At least something of the result that day will be down to us supporters. We can lift and fight with and for the team or help frighten and destroy.

Agreed, I think the anti McLeish point was made well enough at the Bolton game, now we need to support.  His days are surely numbered so job done and get behind the team

Let's not forget Spurs will be under a lot of pressure too.  Ninety plus minutes of our crowd giving them the bird, whilst cheering and lifting Villa would be superb - a bit like that Inter Milan match of several years ago.

If QPR and Bolton don't lose today then we'll go, I reckon.

2 wins since we beat Wolves would have done it, if we do go we absolutely deserve it.

If Bolton and QPR draw today, they'll be 2 points behind us -

Villa - Spurs, Norwich
QPR - Chelsea away, Stoke home, Citeh away
Bolton - Spurs home, West Brom home, Stoke away

I think Bolton and Wigan will finish above us.

If QPR catch up with us then they'll have better goal difference most likely. We need Chelsea to smash them today, 4 or 5. I can't see it happening, think they might get something.

If Chelsea beat QPR today, then QPR would need 4 points from Stoke home and Citeh away to relegate us.

While that isn't totally impossible (Citeh away is the last game), you've gotta think it's unlikely.

Chelsea v QPR is absolutely massive for us today.

It is clear that our forwards have no confidence to apply a decisive finish when clearly in positions where scoring is easier than missing or getting a save out of the goalkeeper. N'Zogiba twice, Heskey and Agbonlahor many times were guilty of that.

This is the most worrying aspect of our team at the moment. It means that coupled with noddy tactics and an uncertain defence we will not win any of the two remaining matches.
Our survival is in the hands of others.

spot on , I was suprised not to see Weimann get any match time . Our forwards look useless at the moment .

He did the right thing dropping Weimann, he's still a young lad and he's done well but taking him out of it was the right idea. I thought Heskey and Gabby were the best partnership for yesterday. He should have brought Carruthers on earlier than he did though. He won a corner with his first touch.

The problem is , we are not going to score with those two up front unless its a midfield player as the defenders are not going to score from a set piece/corner.

I know what you're saying but i just think he was right to go with Heskey's experience yesterday.

Chelsea won't be short on confience that's for sure. With the squad they have they will be favourites to win, game or no game in the week.
But then it's a funny old game...not all that funny right now admittedly

I don't think anyone can complain about Heskey's contribution yesterday (or against Bolton) and Gabby was the obvious partner in a game of this importance. Weimann's chance will come again and I think he will score goals at the top level. I agree about Carruthers: he's now had 3 promising little cameos and yesterday he might have made a difference if he'd come on after 80 minutes instead of 90.
