I am assuming all the 'no way we will go down, stop being big girls' blouses' brigade have now left the party? Because you have been spectacularly wrong I'm afraid even if we do now scrape it by the skin of our teeth

Nope. You assume wrong.

Incidentally, how can the 'no way we will go down' brigade be spectacuarly wrong if we don't go down? Surely the fact that we didn't go down would make your imaginary brigade corract?

It's the 'no way we will go down' that I was commenting on because that has proved to be a spectacularly wrong judgement

I don't think I've ever seen anyone so delighted at a Villa defeat. It's a bit sad really.

And no, I still don't think we're going to go down.

Completely incorrect Dave and out of order for you to say that. I thought you were better than that. Very sad to see you write in that way, try asking the posters on here who know me in person if they think that is what I am like. I am solely having a go at all those who were taking the mick out of us doubters for the last few weeks, sometimes in quite a nasty fashion. I shan't bother to post again if you are going to say such utterly ridiculous things

I think Richard, and I'm sure you didn't mean it like that, the problem was that you lumped everyone who doesn't think we will be relegated into one group, accused them of making silly 'girls blouses' comments and then were quite scathing of their views. It's asking for trouble on a night where everyone is feeling pretty down. I don't think we'll go down, but I certainly haven't called anyone a big girls blouse or anything similar.

Bolton have 4 games left. after winning tonight id be surprised if they didn't get at least 4. if only we could have played them as originally planned. we had just beaten fulham and thought we were safe. can't see us taking any more points now and think 2 will be required

Well no, because if we aren't relegated, then no way have we gone down. Let's hope that's the case.

Actually, I haven't said that at all. I was aiming my comment at those who have said we will stay up in no uncertain terms and have been extremely scathing at those of us who said that relegations was a real possibility, not at all of those who have expressed the view we will be ok (if that makes sense!

OK, fair enough. I'm just saying that's what came across to me. As I said, I'm sure you didn't mean it like that.

No worries Sheffield, emotions are running high. It is the comment about me being so delighted at a Villa defeat that is out of order. However, I'm afraid the current plight seems to be bringing the worst out in everyone, me included probably

From the time Dunne and then Collins got injured we were in trouble squad wise, we are so thin on the ground for senior players it was injuries that would haunt us. All those that were for playing the kids this is what you get, they tried their hearts out tonight but once Davies came on our defence were in trouble.

We're going down. Just like we were at the start of the season. Just like we were on 17th June 2011 when that poor excuse for a manager was brought in by the totally inept Randy Lerner.

I lost all enthusiasm for the club at that point and decided not to renew as enough was enough.

I won't be going back in a long time. They say you have to experience the bad to appreciate the good times, but boy am I not thinking like that.

I'll look out for the results, come on here occassionally, but my love for Aston Villa has come to and end.

Most unlikely, when was the last time we won a game, let alone 'stuffed' anybody?  West Brom are a better team than us, with a better manager I'm afraid.  Time to start facing up the reality of the situation.
