Every week people say Wigan have this tough game, or QPR won't get anything against Spurs etc. And yet every week a team or two is coming up with a result apart from us.
been told we allready have enough points to stay up, its now pretty obvious we dont.

38 points needed i reckon. if we lose on Tuesday can't see us surviving. the boggies will be rubbing their hands if that happens. this time next week i we'll know our fate.

If gabby and Collins are out on Tuesday you've got to be worried

John e must be sweating on the £500 he promised this site if we go down

Been obvious for weeks this is where we would find ourselves, it was just a shame that those of us who knew it would pan out like this were described as schoolgirls wetting our knickers or some such. Quite what such certainty that we wouldn't go down is based upon is as mystifying to me now as it was two or three weeks ago. We play the worst football in the league bar Wolves, we have no regular goalscorer, no one else who can score goals and a manager who could take Man Utd down if you gave him two seasons to have a shot at it. And the history of the league is littered with teams like us who sleepwalk their way to relegation

Nothing is going our way. I've just posted on another thread that we look like we'll be depending on teams below us to stop picking up vital wins. Two more draws might be enough if Blackburn and Bolton go to pieces.

If it came down to it and we ended up needing three points at Norwich, would you fancy us to deliver?

I would not even back us to get a draw at Norwich if it comes down to that. Not lose to Bolton and we can breathe again. Its all about Bolton now.

Incidentally Richard - to return to a previous tête-à-tête of ours, NOW we're the second worst team on current form after Wolves...

Really Dave, even worse than Spurs!? (winky emoticon)

We ought to start a thread on what John's £500 could be spent on...!!

Calm the fuck down we've still got a gap and unless we lose Tuesday we're safe. Even then spurs look crap, wba are crap and Norwich have there sombreros on already.

We wouldn't need 3 points at Norwich.

A crumb of comfort I can see is Blackburn v Wigan on the horizon. If Wigan lose at home to Newcastle and then at Ewood, 37 points is the maximum they can get for the season. Even if Blackburn win that game, they still need to beat Spurs or Chelsea away to get to 37.

We need one more point.

I'll say it again and I've said it before.  This is the worst Aston Villa side I have seen since I started to support the club in around 1976.  Even worse that Billy McNeill's team.  That HAS to be down to the current Manager. If we lose to Bolton, we are in the shit.  Perhaps going a goal down to the trotters might wake us up from the apathetic state we have found ourselves in. Catatonic.

Those of you expecting us to beat a very poor Tottenham side, playing Villa seems to be the tonic most clubs need in kickstarting their season again!!  I hope I'm wrong though.

QPR have to go to Chelsea and Man City and are at home to stoke in the other so one point will probably do us...
Blackburn vs Wigan could be a biggie...hopefully we will be nice and safe by then...
Fab season when you are hoping for a point at home to a relegation threatened, out of form Bolton side...
I dont see them getting much at Citeh or Chelsea, but Stoke at home the last day of the season i think they will win.
Qpr play Man city away on the last day, might make you feel slightly better

I can't remember the last time we lost to Bolton at home can you lovejoy?!!!! Neither Spurs or WBA are crap, we most certainly are though. And then there's Norwich, last game of the season, go out on a bang, thank you to the fans etc etc. Whilst I still think we will stay up, this absolute certainty that we we will - as if it's unequivocal - is, as I said above, deeply mystifying.
