Wolves can't catch us (barring a 20 goal goal difference swing).

Blackburn need 7 points from 4 games just to get to where we are now, and they have Chelsea away and Spurs away still to go.  Plus Wigan at home, which if they were to win would obviously make Wigan's job harder.

QPR are 4 behind us having played a game more, and still have Chelsea away and Man City away to go, plus Spurs at home.

We're very boring and playing very badly, but we ain't going down this year.  17th mind - now that is a possibility.

As long as qpr dont beat spurs on sat i think we will be ok, i think wigan and bolton will both overtake us, but qpr have spurs at home and chelsea and man city away and im banking on them picking up 1 point from those 3 games at most, blackburn and wolves are too far adrift.

Thats the thing though - we are totally dependant on other teams dropping points when in fact the staying up should be in our own hands.

I really thought we'd be okay after the Liverpool draw, but with Wigan beating Liverpool, Man Utd and Arsenal I'm not convinced. What with Stan's unfortunate illness and a lengthy injury list everything seems to be conspiring against us. But we also have a manager who is so negative I think that this is transmitting to the players - if your boss isn't confident in your ability what message does that send out? After all, McLeish said after the Arsenal game away that ''we've got to be realistic'' So Wigan were realistic last night? and last week against Man Utd? I think momentum is against us and we'll fail by a point or two.

Can we not put in some sort of complaint to the Premier League about Wigan's conduct last night?

They clearly have a very different agenda to Arsenal, and yet they approached the game in a really positive manner and the way they had the temerity to try to win was bordering on insulting. Shouldn't they have spent the 90 minutes admiring Robin van Persie's technical ability and marveling at the architecture of the Emirates Stadium, instead of concentrating on their own constructive performance?

It would certainly of the quality of the Premier League if Villa we're relegated, so I can't blame anyone in the media for saying the team should go down
