Wigan on our shoulder now.  Will pass us soon.   We have to beat Bolton.

Another round of fixtures and still 6 points ahead. 2 points needed max might even be 1 or even none

A win on Sat would be handy though

Wigan are out of the equation now imo, fair play to 'em. On 34 points and have Wolves at home on the last day.

After QPR get beat and we win against Sunderland, we'll be safe as their ain't no way QPR will get nine out of Stoke, Chelsea and Man City.

Wolves can't catch us (barring a 20 goal goal difference swing).

Blackburn need 7 points from 4 games just to get to where we are now, and they have Chelsea away and Spurs away still to go.  Plus Wigan at home, which if they were to win would obviously make Wigan's job harder.

QPR are 4 behind us having played a game more, and still have Chelsea away and Man City away to go, plus Spurs at home.

We're very boring and playing very badly, but we ain't going down this year.  17th mind - now that is a possibility.

Bolton have a game in hand though.
Have to hope that Spurs beat QPR...

Well we ain't finishing above Wigan from what I've just seen.

Fingers crossed for QPR to balls it up.

Somehow we need to get a win and a draw in these 2 home games coming up.

Regardless of everyone's thoughts on McLeish, Lerner and the crap football being served up, I would urge one and all to get along to both games, create a great atmosphere and give the young kids the help they need to get us over the finishing line.

Did anyone think Wigan would get 9 from Anfield, Emirates and Manure at home?

Getting far too close for comfort for my liking.

Voted no because I think we'll get another 5 points this season, it'll be touch and go though with a few other teams below us getting similar/more

We will survive - no thanks to the current manager.............likely finish on 39 points

Next season will be different - less than 39 points if he isn't shown the door

For heaven's sake Lerner admit you made a mistake and don't listen to Sir Alex in the future

No bloody chance of us getting another win this season and after seeing the Wigan result it means the teams below us only need to have good run and the writing is on the wall going down with no chance of coming straight back up as no half decent manager will want to come to Villa as with Lerner losing the money the club get from being in the premier he will cut the clubs budget even more.

At the moment, it is all in our own hands.  Four points (possibly even three) from our next two games will be enough.  Saturday could be a big day, as QPR (Spurs), Bolton (Swansea), Blackburn (Norwich) are all at home, whilst Wigan are away at Fulham.  They'll all think those games are winnable.

Give McLeish a superior squad to his Blues squad and not only will he fail to win any silverware, his point total will be exactly the same. He is a disgrace.

At this point, I'd be happy if the points total ends up the same.

Unless the FA impose a points deduction for McLeish's crimes against football, we've got enough points already to stay up. 17th is the new 4th in our manager's estimations so this will signal success.
