Extrapolating from what has happened so far this season, I'll say we'll get 40 points.

Home against truly shit teams, like Blackburn and Wigan, we win. So we'll beat Bolton.

Against average teams we scrape a draw. So we'll draw against Norwich and Spurs (which is an average team on recent form).

If a possible outcome can piss of the fans, it'll happen. So we'll lose against MON's Sunderland and rivals WBA.

They've already beaten us once at VP this season though (when we had a fully fit squad to hand), so hard to buy your logic on that one!

True. And, if I remember correctly,  Coyle rested 9 players and we didn't have a shot on target until the 87th minute.
And then when we played against their first team a few weeks later we spent 60 minutes making them look like a League One side.

Im not voting because I don't know is the reality.

1 win is what we need - but we probably need to score two goals to do that. Therefore we need Gabby to spark quickly. The Bolton game could have a similar ring to the Charlton game all those years ago if we lose to the Mackems. Worrying.

If you put me on the spot we will survive - and with that the O'Learyesque 'talk the opposition up and The Villa down (with a different accent)' fuckwit buffoon has to be binned. Sorry finally ran out of patience after him spouting bollocks, bollocks and more bollocks in post match interviews.

Also true. It's a funny old game, and no mistake.

I have really lost patience with Big Feck, as have most people. Unfortunately, I decided to renew my S/T but only really because it is only £295 next season (Upper Holte wings) and I was thinking that McLeish would be off in the summer anyway, despite the board backing him all the time.

I think we'll stay up, but it's going to be a nail-biter. I can see us doing the same as the Blose did last season, i.e. being fairly safe and then results on the last day stitching us up. As an insurance policy, I've put £20 on us going down at 14.5 with Betfair so at least my season ticket will only have cost me a fiver next year.

I seem to go through waves of negative thoughts and pretty much "meh".

I can't see where the goals are going to come from.  I hope I'm wrong but we're hardly free flowing at the best of times, with Darren Bent or not.  Beat either Sunderland or Bolton and we are safe.  Trouble is, I really can't see it.  Two draws at best, which might also prove to be enough.  I can see Villa dropping to 16th or 17th but being safe.

I agree, IMO we won't score more than a single goal a game based on recent form and therefore might get a draw or two that should be enough, but it could be closer than I'd like

we will survive this season but statistically, if AM is in charge, we will go down next season, as he simply can't win enough games. The wider question is, if nothing changes, i.e. the holy trinity of RL, AM and PF remain, they may not have a business to preside over for very much longer. No one will want to join, players we may wish to keep may well want to leave, those players we want to go will stay as they know they will not command their hugely inflated salaries anywhere else, fans will stay away due to the mind-dumbing mediocrity of the entertainment on offer, investors and sponsors will look at more exciting, progressive and entertaining options, etc etc. I realise this sounds like a doomsday senario and I pray it never comes to fruition, but its not totally inconceiveable that it might.

Spot on.  Its my biggest worry is the damage done to the club, we're already financially in the shit and now our reputaion and image to other supporters and clubs is really being turned on its head.

Agree with this, Sunderland is a must win after Wigan's victory against Arsenal, we can't possibly risk chucking in the towel on this one on the pretext we are without question going to beat Bolton, very risky indeed.

In fact if you look at where we should be and then look at the remaining fixtures you would think Sunderland, Bolton, WBA and Norwich are pretty much nailed on for at least 3 wins there, but times change and we have to start with 3 points v Sunderland and the same with Bolton giving us 41, on that we should be safe remembering that the more the teams below us win the higher the bar gets raised in terms of the threshold for points required to survive.

Its down to the wire now, we lose to Sunderland and Bolton, teams below us pick up points this weekend and we are right in it.
