I think their statement is strangely worded but seems to imply that they wont accept it while lamberts only talking to villa but i think if villa agree terms with lambert they will accept it and then sort the compensation with villa, tgereby keeping the door open for lambert just in case his tslks with villa break down.

Urgh Collymore. I used to listen to what he had to say until he started slagging us off for wanting McLeish out.

He said it was personal as he came from Birmingham but it turns out , ironically, that he was being personal as he's mates with McShitey. Hypocrite..

Christ ! TalkSport is unbelievable The media in general seem well miffed that he is coming to us and are suggesting it's a downwards / sideways move on the basis of us having one awful season. They really make me sick but also quite smug as they clearly do not like the fact that we are still attract top targets, they were the same when we signed Bent. Well up yours the lot of you. We know the truth

That's the trouble: Villa have no one in the club who can raise our profile with the media. I can recall Phil Mepham being there a few years ago and our profile seemed much higher . They let shitheads like DW spout off without any form of rebuke. I'm afraid if people keep on and on saying we're 'too small' it tends to stick and that's how we're perceived. As I posted before, the PR is completely rubbish at the club and it needs addressing. Dare I say it, at least the General used to fight our corner with the media.

I think players like Stephen Ireland are in for a shock with Paul Lambert about. Shape up or f**k off.

In fairness Ireland worked really hard for the team last year. He wouldn't be the first name I'd think of in terms of 'shaping up or fucking off.'

I thought he was average at times. Hard working? Nah. Player of the season? No

He was the one player that made kind of an effort though. No player stood out over the season. They were all less that mediocre. The great Gabby did fcuk all. He's a player that has been coasting of his potential as a good prospect for a few seasons now. He's the guy that might get a wake up call.

Gabby might well see himself in the shit if we get Lambert. Just cause he has a Villa badge for a heart might not be enough for Lambert.

Paul Lambert was correct to offer his resignation. This is an honourable thing to do whilst you have declared that you would like to move to a better job. This is unlike that weasel Martinez who cant make up his mind or pull his chairman out of his arse.
Norwich have not accepted Paul's resignation for very good and valid reasons. If they do than they have no recourse to compensation.
Now we are in the final steps and deed will be done in the next 24 hours.

do you think Martinez was ever offered the job at Villa or Liverpool ?  you would only resign when you know there is a job offer from another club surely

They were probably hoping we'd sign Mcarthy so they could have a good laugh at the protestors with bedsheets again.

He was last year, from an ITK, for the compo claim from Whelan to be that ludicrous Randy said no. Hence the fabled rejected us story's concoction.

Who cares what Martinez does or doesn't want anymore?  We can all enjoy watching Wigan get a sound thrashing, home and away, next season.
