Paul Lambert is tactically smart & a mix of charming & scary. He can inspire people & instill discipline. He's just what #avfc need

I'll take Lambert. He looks like the type of nasty bastard that gets players playing.
Can't believe some of the posts on here and VT I have always had a soft spot for Norwich and hope they continue to do well in the Premiership. But come on, to compare them with Villa is an absolute joke we are a very special football club (I remember vividly our 3rd division days) and always will be. This club has the potential as we have seen recently to strike at the top four we must not allow the Villa to slip any further behind than we have since the summer of 2010. I found it easy to predict that the previous manager would leave at the end of the season, it was a no brainer. I have struggled to predict or have a favourite for his successor. However, PL has an impressive CV and if the Board believe that this can benefit us I would back his appointment all the way. What will impress me is that he has the vision and the balls to take the job I want him to become our modern day Ron Saunders and get this club back on track. I'm sure there is an historical link there but Dave will remember that better than me.

Ron Saunders used to manage Norwich before Villa. Dion Dublin, Andy Townsend and Chris Sutton all used to play for them. They've got a great old ground, terrific support and Delia is a legend.
The only bad thing I can say about them is their doubling over us in '92/'93 cost us the title as much as those 100 minutes of injury time at Old Trafford.

On page 500 of this thread a new Villa leader will be born. Hallelujah!

And they supplied Steve Bruce, who scored silly goals for united to deny us too.

And Ugo didn't make his debut against them.

Go to pub for a few beers and it all kicks off, just caught up.

Rodgers to Lplop, Martinez to stay Whelans bitch, and Lambert to Villa!
*Cigar lit* I love it when a plan comes together.

Hmm, John Fashanu also started there, so maybe not all good. (Aside - I watched on youtube the other day a very interesting and sad BBC docu on his brother from when he died).

What happened to Martinez as a possible?

Dave Whelan will be incandescent.  I'm so looking forward to it.

Norwich fans are not happy. I hope he is able to bring Ian Culverhouse with him as number 2, he seems to be very well respected on the tactical and coaching side by their fans, and that he is given a decent wedge. I think to stand a cat in hells chance of moving us back into the top 10, he needs a minimum of 25 million plus sales.

Can canaries tweet in Norfolk?

Seriously though, in what forum are you reading their views?

Where's that brick-wall emoticon?

Yes we got the singing bit Rich, loud and clear, however if I was PL I would have been less than impressed with the slagging off of a friend and fellow Scott, who never stood a chance from the off with the small minded Villa supporters because of the Birmingham link. F***ed if I would want to manage you with a crowd like that. Loose 3 on the bounce, another Scott gets roasted.

Seriously though, I wonder if the chants from the Villa fans towards him has played on his mind much over the last couple of weeks.

I hope we do. With both McLeish and Houllier for various reasons we didn't get the full management team missing out on Houllier's long term assistant (whose name I cannot recall) and Andy Watson. PL brought Karsa over from Colchester so obviously he thinks highly of him within his team. Same with Culverhouse.

Both Lambert and TSM are actually named Scott? You learn something new every day.
