Lambo? I propose that we publicly flog anyone on here who calls him that.

Agreed. Or word filter it to insult the poster writing it!!

Why? Nobody objected to 'Eck's stupid nickname.

I did.

Deja vu.

Scottish manager that Villa are linked with quits his job.

I hadn't realised he played under TSM before. Surely for the ones mentioning it, that is more of a worry then him playing under TNIM and picking up influences from him.

'Lambo' is the obvious name but sounds wanky.

I will go with 'PL'. Makes a change to have a manager with just a two initials name rather than three, after SGT, DOL, MON and AFM.

You've been waiting to use that one haven't you?

I thought it was the club realising the baggage he was bringing (his staff from top to bottom). The quitting had nothing to do with it and was probably Sparky jumping the gun and not thinking we could ever not employ him.

No more relevant either way. TSM was the man who refused Lambert a contract at Motherwell and let him walk out on a Bosman, only to trial at PSG and then sign for Dortmund, with whom he went on to win the European Cup. Good shout TSM!

Wait an ex old firm manager quits, breaking his contract to join us, for which we will pay compensation hours after rumours of Martinez not joining us appear.

Did I see this movie before?  ;D

*seriously, I would be happy enough with Lambert.

I think we should just call him Paulie on here. That would never be confusing and could lead to fun if he is a disaster of predecessor proportions.

Not unless Livingston are suddenly part of the bigot derby.

I'll take Lambert. He looks like the type of nasty bastard that gets players playing.
Can't believe some of the posts on here and VT I have always had a soft spot for Norwich and hope they continue to do well in the Premiership. But come on, to compare them with Villa is an absolute joke we are a very special football club (I remember vividly our 3rd division days) and always will be. This club has the potential as we have seen recently to strike at the top four we must not allow the Villa to slip any further behind than we have since the summer of 2010. I found it easy to predict that the previous manager would leave at the end of the season, it was a no brainer. I have struggled to predict or have a favourite for his successor. However, PL has an impressive CV and if the Board believe that this can benefit us I would back his appointment all the way. What will impress me is that he has the vision and the balls to take the job I want him to become our modern day Ron Saunders and get this club back on track. I'm sure there is an historical link there but Dave will remember that better than me.

I think contestant number three got a new job this afternoon.

Given that this morning it was Lambert, Martinez or Another, will that be the mystery man then, Dave?

Contestant number 3 on thst list is di matteo- surely hes not villa bound is he dave?

It wasn't di Matteo.

Just reading the thread 5 hours behind. No 3 was probably Rodgers

Calling him Paulie works for me.
