Is it ever in that jungle Monty? But it keeps the conversation flowing. There is a hell of a lot of stabbing randomly in the dark.

Maybe we should change the poll to Lambert/ Martinez/ Mystery Candidate

I'm in favour of that, Kendrick does seem the most ITK of anyone right now.

And yes, most are unreliable - in fact, I'm hoping they're unreliable this time!

I still find it strange that Hughton doesn't appear to be in the equation, after all, surely he's a 'vibrant young manager to reinvigorate' the club type isn't he? Or is it the fall-out and embarrassment from the McLeish appointment last Summer? Would Lerner approach Blues again??

He's not particularly young.

Hughton has done a great job at Blues and Newcastle, but he is the man to call when you have gone down and you need to

consolidate. we are not there yet

I just don't think Lerner will approach Blues again.

If we were on the verge of appointing Martinez or if we'd even spoken to him, would'nt Foghorn Whelan had contacted Talk Sport and announced it by now?

Maybe, considering what happened last time, they've made contact with a proviso that he keeps his trap shut.  Or maybe just approached his agent and kept Whelan out of the loop?

Somebody on VillaTalk seems confident it is Lambert.

Yeah, the guy Richard is very sure, and by all means he's not one to bullshit or risk ridicule usually.

I hope to God he's wrong, because I believe Lambert represents nothing but yet more conservativism, pragmatism and a determination to keep the club firmly rooted in its 20th Century, water-treading comfort zone. I'm starting to worry though.

I haven't been on there for a while. It's blocked at work. Probably a good thing...
