No one ever said "young". Vibrant is on there, but young is simply assumed.

Are you saying that KMac is 'vibrant' then?  ;)

He has a nice smile.....erm...  :-\ :o

Vibrant. According to the dictionary we are looking for someone pulsating with life, vigor and activity. Someone responsive and sensitive.

Part of me says "chill out, early days yet, see how things pan out and just enjoy the nice weather instead of worrying about this shit, just trust them to get it right".

Then another part of me screams "ARE YOU FUCKING INSANE? THESE ARE THE SAME PEOPLE WHO THOUGHT ALEX MCLEISH WAS A GOOD APPOINTMENT".

Conflicted.

The more I think about it and having read most of the posts I would be very happy to go for Steve Clarke and an assistant of his choice.

As long as it isnt "The Crab"

In truth I think its between Lambert and Martinez....and possibly OGS.

Last summer, had Faulkner said "We want to find someone to reinvigorate the club. We want someone to bring some vibrancy back to Villa. That's what we need and that's what we're going to get", and then hired McWaste then I'd be shitting myself over this appointment.

This year it's different which is why I'd be stunned if the new bloke is over 45 and doesn't advocate a more pleasing (to the eye) brand of football. Any remaining credibility, the very thing they are trying to restore with a disenchanted fan base, would be shot to pieces.

For that reason, I want them to take their time.

Far better that we leave it until late June (or even August)  rather than a rushed appointment just for the sake of it.

Chances are, if the manager they're after is currently attached, it's not as easy as clicking their fingers and saying 'want that one.'   Most contracts run from June>June. Waiting a few weeks might mean the difference between needing to pay compo for 3 years or paying compo for 2.  Or there might be a stipulation that the manager they're after has a small window before his current contact renews when he can talk to other sides.

Waiting until August would be stupid as a lot of hard work needs to be done before we even contemplate another game of football!

I would be very surprised if we are still managerless by the weekend.

Is that a gut feeling, a fervent hope, or something more, Eastie?

Aye,  but in a lesser of two evils scenario, I could wear that sort of wait.  Rather than a shit early appointment that effectively writes off the season (as per last year).

Can't see how it can be Lambert at this point - if we wanted him, we'd have got him by now.

Not if he was a back up choice behind martinez and we were waiting on him to make a decision .

Just an opinion or gut feeling as they say .
