The paper was talking about Southgate doing a Director of Football job and Kevin McDonald being the head coach. It's lazy journalism - they've just thought the DoF role is probably similar to what he's doing for the FA and that he's an ex-Villa player it would be something we would consider. They won't worry about things like us saying we're not looking at that set-up and talk that McDonald isn't being considered (nor does he fit the requirement).

There are a number of plus sides to Martinez. The one being we'd not have to hear from Whelan bleating on about hum as if he was a piece of meat hanging at the market.
