Heard a little story all done and dusted .Simon Grayson to be announced on the ist of june
So the Baggies get Ranieri and Wilkins and we get Simon bleeding Grayson. He's hardly bloody vibrant either

On the contrary, Meg Richardson once assured me that Larry vibrates to note of F# when stimulated.

Just reading through this thread, it's no wonder nobody good wants the job. You're all a bunch of whinging fuckers. Whine..."I don't want him"...whine..."he's not good enough for us"...whine..."why haven't we got Guardiola yet?"...whine...

Come on - its sunny! Enjoy the weather and enjoy the surprise of the new manager!

Mmmm...these Hobgobilns are going down a treat in the garden listening to John Peels son DJ on 6music!

Wasn't there mention in the press that the board were 'delighted' with the calibre of manager applying for the job?    So rather than them having to chase and ultimately make arses of themselves, perhaps they're calm and taking their time because they know it's already wrapped up.

If AVB has been letting sides like Anderlecht know he wants to be considered, it's not a complete leap of faith to  think that he might have contacted us too.   Or -if we're ignoring the usual suspects- perhaps Marco Van Basten.

I don't think a stupid amount needs to be spent, there's some bloody good footballers down there still.

I'd say the midfield and defence are mostly fine (although maybe another striker now Heskey has gone) but the defence definatley needs looking at.

Midfield and defence are mostly fine?
Midfield is very poor and create very few chances , defence apart from given, the back four all need to go, gabby has gone over 20 games scoreless   - we need major changes in the squad.

How anyone can say the defence and midfield are mostly fine after we just about stayed up is astounding.
Come on clampy , take those blinkers off!

I was typing far too fast at work earlier, i meant that the midfield and attack are mostly fine. There's not a great deal wrong with the midfield that a good manager could'nt put right, it looked terrible last season because we had a manager who's football was'nt great to watch. Obviously though we need a replacement for Stan.

The defence though needs a overhaul, the two full backs especially.

As for me taking off my blinkers Eastie, i don't wear any but it was a clever remark. Did you think of that or was it your source who apparantley rang you from across the atlantic?

The midfield??! It's been shite. Who of any of our midfielders would be considered definitely first choice for next year?

I have now backed Lambert with hard cash at Paddypower.  I was surprised that despite my money going in he still remains second favourite behind Rafa. Emile Heskey is 150/1!

If Simon Grayson was at Bodymoor Heath there is a possibility that it was with his Huddersfield team ahead of their game tomorrow. we let Blackpool train there before their game why not an-ex-player who wants to use top facilities before heading south?

AVFCMysteryman‏@AvfcMysteryman

Paul Lambert is the only target on the table right now

From Twitter, this evening.

Vaguely disturbing image of Bond/Lambert on a table with a laser cutting up between his knees comes to mind.

The reason why we were told we would have to wait is because Bielsa has the Copa Del Rey final tonight. Well, it's a nice thought.

It certainly is.  I'm choosing to believe you're ITK.
