Got a horrible gut feeling we'll end up with Curbishley.

Free, available and has the 'Premier League experience' that Faulkner and co require.

Not the inspiring choice we would all hope for, but would be an improvement on McLeish in my opinion.

Anyone would be an improvement on McLeish, but Curbishley would be nearly as bad and doesn't fit "young and dynamic"

Spanish Waiter now second favourite - clealry after recent ex Liverpool managerial appointments/reappointments that is a terrible thought.
I didn't know Randy had another £100m to pee up the wall.

I don't know why but I reckon it's going to be someone from Europe that we never suspected.

Spoke to soon - now favourite on Paddy Power at 5-2. Jeeps some more dour, negative football with someone who brought zero players through the ranks at Liverpool which is what we need to do because we don't have said 100m to invest/spend/waste

How exactly do unrelated managerial appointments point to a disaster if we appointed him?

Was it not stated that at one point 'The Mighty Reds YNWA' had over 60 professional players on their books - so many in fact that FSW did not even know the names of some of them

The workshy FC fans love him so let him go back there
He was an abject failure at Inter and the Europen cup was with GH's team
His mental breakdown vis Fergie scum was amusing but also showed me that he is a paranoid dilusional who is overconfident in his own ability

cant stand the knob to be honest

If we get AVB then we will at least sell one more ST as my missu thinks he is gorgeous  ???

Young / vibrant / point to prove / winner (although not with Chelsea mafia) and i think he would love the fact of coaching so many young players

My colours are nailed to the mast  I WANT AVB - randy make it so

Have you put a bet on Lambert?  What odds did you get?
I never bet on things I would like to come to fruition!

I dont think rafa would be all that bad the reason being that at LFC there was massive pressure to win the league hence why he needed the money to buy players that could help him do that. Tactically he seems like a good manager.

My only concern if he comes to us is the lack of game time our youth players will get but then saying that, one of the clauses in him becoming manager will be that he has to develop and use the youth.

Personally, i think he would have less pressure at villa than at lfc as we know that for the next couple of seasons we want to be entertained on the pitch and aim for top 10 finishes with hopefully a cup.

Well in part it part his record at signing the mid range players (5m-6m) and we won;t be signing anyone more expensive,  the fact his most recent achievement was to destroy Mourinho's legacy at Inter Milan in record quick time.
And at 52 he does not exactly fit the 'young' category which the board stated as a requirement and yes a good tactician but vibrant he isn't - the style of football at Liverpool was in part effective but not attractive.

It's another car crash in my book.

All valid things to take into consideration when discussing his abilities, but they've got nothing to do with what I responded to originally.

Put a tenner on him yesterday at 8/1, I've also had another tenner on RDM last week at 25/1 plus a fiver on Lambert at 4/1.

Wilkins confirms West Brom talks
Ian CruiseTODAY AT 09:35
Ray Wilkins has held talks with West Brom about their vacant managerial position.

The Baggies are searching for a new boss after Roy Hodgson quit the Hawthorns to take charge of England and have been linked with the likes of Birmingham boss Chris Hughton and former Chelsea chief Claudio Ranieri.

But former QPR and Fulham manager Wilkins is also in the frame and he confirmed to talkSPORT he has held initial discussions with the Midlands club and is interested in the job.

Wilkins has been working in the media since his controversial sacking as Carlo Ancelotti’s number two at Chelsea in December 2010, but he is keen to get back into the game.

Albion, however, could face competition for his services, with Aston Villa also reportedly keen to speak to him about succeeding Alex McLeish.

does Benitez really fit the 'young and vibrant' bill ?

he doesnt seem vibrant to me, or young for that matter, he might be in his early 50's but he looks 10 years older,
