Heh heh, the realistic favourite for the Liverpool job is being outvoted by a fast food pizza outlet on our forum.  That somehow cheers me up greatly

If it's Roeder I'm giving up on the Villa, seriously. I'd sooner watch rugby or something.

Terribly, terribly depressing.

Yep completely unacceptable, but I don't think that'll happen.

If it's Roeder I'll attach an Ikea kitchen to my genitalia and throw it off Ben Nevis.

See I'm not completely against the idea of Martinez, he does try and get his team to play good football. Also given some of the other names being mentioned, he looks pretty decent.

Roeder? What madness is this now?
Why would his name being mentioned surprise you Greg?
You saw what happened last summer.

I take your point but its getting a bit daft on here and we could be waiting weeks of an appointment. People need to calm down a bit and wait. Plenty of time to rant when/if someone crap turns up.

You heard it here first folks.

The Press Association are saying that we are about to make an approach for Martinez. Don't know where they got it from, no quotes or attribution.
I thought that Martinez was on holiday in Europe/ in USA talking to Fenway Sports Group. Depending on which report you believe.

McAllister is bad enough, standing on the touchline looking futile. But him and Roeder. I feel sick.

Current shortlist for me only interested in Martinez or Poyet...

I didnt like Lambert before this weeks press conference, but that thick scottish accent has but me off even more - maybe i am worried it will bring back Eck flash backs?

I see Martinez as being in the 'young and promising PL manager' category, along with Lambert and Rodgers.  But for me he's bottom of that list, with Lambert being top.  OGS could be described as 'young and promising overseas manager', so at least there's some continuity this time around, if true.

As long as we stay away from the 'old and dull' side of things (McCarthy, Bruce, Curbs) then I think most fans will give the new guy a fair chance.

Even more strange that the press reported he had talks last Thursday.
