Gus Poyet for me. Done well with Brighton in the Championship. I would rather him to Lambert to be honest. Lambert has too much of a MON thing going on for my liking (I could be wrong on that). Obviously if AVB ended up as manager I would be v v happy. He would want to prove a few doubters wrong, Villa would be a good option for him,  he wouldn't enormous pressure to bring immediate success that managing Liverpool would have.

I haven't been totally convinced by the noises Lambert has been making. Why is he getting so riled about an obvious question if he's staying at Norwich? No-one's asking Brendan Rodgers what he's doing, because he's made his stance clear. Lambert however... seems to be making placatory statements without actually saying he is definitely going to be Norwich's manager next season.

Di Matteo, Rodgers, Poyet in that order for me. Adkins is an interesting shout with the jobs he has done at Scunthorpe and Southampton. No idea why anyone would suggest Zola might be a good choice. I wasn't impressed at the way Lambert lost his cool in his press conference the other night. Your top striker has put in a transfer request and you are the favourite for the Villa job. Those subjects will crop up in a press conference.

He was angry because the press conference and the night were about adam drurys testimonial and as he said that was all he there to talk about , it was adams night.

Looks a steely character and not a man to be messed with though, could see lambert sorting the dressing room out no problem.

That's my point. SKY cameras and more microphones than Obama gets were not there to talk about Adam Drury.

With Lambert I sense a lot of it is him washing his hands of responsibility. In other words he's saying "come and ask permission to speak to me", which is correct to be fair.
That way, if his bosses let us speak to him, it's their fault and if they dont let us speak to him, well he never said he wanted out so no big deal. His relationship with Norwich and their fans is undamaged and life goes on. If they did give him permission, he'd come here alright.

Not that I know we even want to speak to him, but you would imagine he wouldn't be too far away from contention. He's a credible candidate.

I just looked at Roeder's managerial career on Wiki and it's not the best reading to be honest

Probably why he's a scout for us and not a manager. Nor will he ever be our manager.

Nonsense.

He's got a CV to die for

Gillingham

Roeder spent one season as player-manager of Gillingham, during which time he led the side to 13 wins in 51 games and saw them finish second from bottom of the Football League, escaping relegation after winning against bottom club Halifax Town in the penultimate fixture of the season.

Watford

After Steve Perryman left to join Tottenham Hotspur, Roeder was hired as the new manager of his former club Watford at the start of the 1993–94 season. However, Watford were fined £10,000 for an illegal approach, and ordered to pay Gillingham a further £30,000 in compensation. In his second season with Watford he almost took the side to the play-offs, eventually finishing just two places outside them. However, he was sacked in February 1996 as the side were struggling at the bottom of the First Division. His replacement, Graham Taylor, was unable to prevent the side from being relegated. During his time at Vicarage Road he signed Kevin Phillips from local Hertfordshire team, Baldock Town for only £10,000.

Burnley

Roeder followed his tenure at Watford by taking a season away from the limelight, assuming a back seat role as Chris Waddle's assistant manager at Burnley. The partnership did not prove to be successful and the pair narrowly avoided steering Burnley into the bottom tier of English football. Only a home victory over Plymouth Argyle on the last day staved off the spectre of relegation. Roeder proved to be both an unpopular and controversial figure to the Burnley fans, hitting a low point when he was reported to have said that star-player Glen Little was "not fit to lace the boots" of manager Chris Waddle. Roeder left his role at Burnley alongside Waddle when the pair departed the club after only a single season in charge.

Anyone ending a post with fact when basically posting opinion is someone I note down to skip the posts of in future.

Maz you are right, he is a credible candidate, but not the only one, and certainly not our last hope. TSM has only been gone ten days.

And Pearce is rubbish.... Just passion and noise from what I have seen.

Maz.

I lost count of the amount of people who said the very same thing about Mc£eish.

Never underestimate the fuckwits running this club.

Why would his name being mentioned surprise you Greg?
You saw what happened last summer.

I was really sold on solskjaer. Now he's not in the frame I have no idea who we will go for nor who I'd prefer. They all seem a bit boring now, although AVB would be great. He must be out of our market at the moment though surely.

McLeish is a King Kong sized monkey ( I appreciate King Kong was/is not a monkey) that will be on Randys back until he puts it right. Something I feel he will do to the best of his ability.

Another McLeish and I'll agree with you. But I really dont think that's going to happen.

Ozz, I dont think for one minute that Lambert is the only option left or our last hope.
I hope not because that is really putting pressure on us to get him.
I'd like to think we've sounded out AVB too or guys like him. In other words, I hope Solskjaer wasn't the only imaginative move we had in mind.

I take your point but its getting a bit daft on here and we could be waiting weeks of an appointment. People need to calm down a bit and wait. Plenty of time to rant when/if someone crap turns up.

Nothing wrong with just passion and noise with no ability to back it up. Sums up my sexual 'performance'. Fact.
