DON'T SAY HIS NAME!!!

who Mcleish ?

Whatever anyone does dont say McLeish a 3rd time or he might reappear... wha?...ohhhh no......

The Scottish manager. Alex Macbeth McLeish!

AARRGGHH!  Hot potato, Orchestra Stalls, but Puck will make ammends. (Their noses are getting very sore!)

Are you sure we can even trust these acting fellows, Blackadder? Last time we went to the theater three of them murdered Julius Caesar. And one of them was his best friend, Brutus!

I think another annoying thing is we are now back to being linked with similar targets to Liverpool. So its gonna seem like we'll have to wait to see what they do before we can. At least with OGS (as far as we know) he wasnt a target of theirs...

Anyone know anything on Domingos Paciencia? Style of play? Does he even speak English?

The point being there must be other OGS rated people out there.

Well, absolutely yes to that last comment of yours. If OGS is the model of the coach we want; young, fresh, showing promise, etc, there must be plenty of like-for-like options in European football. I suppose the former Braga and Sporting guy is one example.

Laudrup would not be a bad outside shout at all.

I think AVB's financial demands and expectations of transfer spend might be lower than we imagine. Put it this way, he's more affordable than he was a year ago, when Porto had a large buyout clause on his contract, and I expect, following his dismissal at Chelsea, he's a very wealthy man now. I think he likes to coach and work with players rather than bring them in, especially, and his coaching origins, before Chelsea, were fairly humble, which is why I thought he was a slightly strange choice for Chelsea's 'sign 'em up, pay 'em big, win win win' approach. So, you never know.

Is Lambert being linked with Liverpool? I think Martinez is higher on their list. If OGS is definitely off, I think we should try to sound out AVB and if that doesn't work just make Lambert an offer he can't refuse. Leave Martinez to Liverpool.

We're going to end up bringing McLeish back at this rate...

If we want experience ....Van Gaal

if we want youth (and a little bit of track record) ... Lambert, Martinez, Rodgers

Alternatives in the Championship (equiv of Norwegian div 1?) ...mackay at Cardiff, Clough at Derby

Sorry, I think AVB would be a mix of both ... but expensive

I wouldn't want Van Gaal. The guy's like a wrecking ball wherever he goes, he'll pitch up, alienate half the players, spend a loud of dough, and then leave a huge mess behind him when he departs.

We missed a trick as Marcello Lippi joined Guangzhou Evergrande in the Chinese League last week, and in true Italian style won his first game 1-0.

The standard here is shite, and I would have thought a move to England would have appealed. Then again, there are some ludicrous salaries being touted out here - Anelka is on around 180k GBP per week in a club who struggle to get more than 15,000 through the gates. And this is a city of 23 million.

Can AVB really be called experienced after 2 and a half seasons in management? While his record at Porto was excellent, there's still a major risk that he's a one-season wonder.
