Liverpool will want to hit the ground running, they won't consider themselves a project. With some decent backing we could be perfect for him and him for us

http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11669/7773116/AVB-looking-for-right-project

The 34-year-old boss has been out of work since March when he parted company with Chelsea following a testing period in charge.

He is presently being linked with the coaching positions at Liverpool and Roma.

However, his adviser believes the former Porto coach will only return to a club that will provide an environment where he can flourish.

Technical project

Asked about the rumours linking Villas-Boas with Liverpool and Roma, Goncalves answered on romagiallorossa.com: "Liverpool and Roma? Well, what we are looking for is a [club with a] strong technical plan, that is solid and durable.

"Villas-Boas would like to return to coaching in these conditions, but if these conditions are not available, we would have no problems not working.

"I won't confirm or deny contacts with specific clubs. What we are interested in is a technical project, its outlook and a situation that has longevity."

Hadn't seen that before posting earlier, but surely all that fits in with what Randy must have been thinking in approaching Ole.

AVB would be good in my opinion. But it's a question as to whether or not he would be happy to come to Villa bearing in mind our current situation - and also potentially a lack of money being available.

Plus, (in my sad little world!) it would be fun too to have someone with the Middle name "Villa" coaching us - a bit like Arsene Wenger at Arsenal!

the fact that his name is Villa, is the main reason we should appoint him, it makes sense
Like Roberto Mancity and Chris UGHton

I have a vision.  I can see a whole new line in camp raincoats being sold in the Villa Village

AVB is evens to be the next Liverpool manager,
if they appoint someone else his odds will tumble for the Villa job, so get on now at 40/1,

it might be unlikely but could be worth a punt for all you risk takers

EDIT, sorry should have gone in the gambleing thread

Maybe my £2 on Ranieri at 33/1 wasn't such a bad shout. I think there's a chance we could end up with him or Poyet if Lambert doesn't want the job.

Ranieri and poyet combination would would decent enough as would ranieri / zola, id certainly take them ahead of grayson .

Would be amazed if avb took the job.

We know ranieri has put himself forward because he said so himself on tv, age may go against him though.

Kmac would be a total disaster-

I'm not sure about 'total disaster'  but he'd be down the pecking order at the moment.

If Randy is serious about the villa he would go all out to 'sell' us to AVB. Give him a half decent budget and three years and we could well be champions league material.

Ranieri would be a disaster too.

If have decent money and can sell it then avb.

And then we woke up and realised that TSM was just a horrible dream.

It's going to be interesting to see which way they go now. Hopefully they're thinking along the same lines as they were with OGS.
