Allardyce's thing about his popularity if his name was Allardici is very true. Put any foreign sounding name up and all the plebs will be saying that he is the man for us. I often look at these things and wonder how these people, who can't string a sentence together on Facebook etc, have such an encyclopaedic knowledge of football.

Cheers. Is that not dropping to far down the leagues in our search for a new manager.

No Allardyce would still be a foreign manager who plays hoof ball.....and a crook.....alledgedly.

Was it Pelty who said somewhere that there were 3 or 4 candidates, any of which would excite Villa fans? So OGS was one, maybe there are other similar unknowns rather than the names being bandied about in polls. (He said hopefully)
Or was it just another so-called ITK who said it?

Lee Clark with John Gregory as the Dark Overlord is my choice.

After Poyet.

After Klinsmann.

even though we did not make a formal offer, OGS saw fit to pull out of the process. Given the fact that the fundamentals have remained constant i.e. continuing to reduce the wage bill, little/no transfer kitty, disenchanted older pro's , mixed bag of younger talent, can any of the realistic candidates actually achieve a higher league placing than TSM did?

There are quite a few in the Championship I could happily rally behind......Hughton, Mackay, Poyet, Dyche, Howe & Freedman

Yes paulie, the multiple candidates thing really ticks me off. Having OGS over then filing him away really left him up shit creek with his employers. He probably would have accepted on Friday or Saturday, he seemed keen enough when answering those questions from the Molde board.

So this process has put off maybe the best candidate, and also maybe the decent other options. What a shit double-whammy.

No evidence yet that the board aren't just as incompetent as last time. More imaginitive, I'll give them that.

Nope. Nothing up here at all about it. I cannot see it for 3 reasons...

1) I think Coyle will try to make up for relegation by taking them back up. This is 'his club'
2) He is negotiating a new contract
3) I don't think Randy would risk going for a 'relegated' manager again.

But stranger things have happened.

Funny thing is i thought we were looking to take a step forward not appoint another manager who got his club relegated. Have we not been there?Do we really want to go there again? I think not, not, not!
