Come on greg, surely you cant really think grayson and ogs are about the same?

Im hoping randy throws everything into making lambert an offer to good to refuse.

Grayson's done it at a better level? Seriously apart from the stardust effect i can't see what OGS has done to get people so exicited. Outspending your rivals in a league worse than the SPL doesn't shout "ideal candidate" to me

OCD: we're making the same mistake as Liverpool regarding the ridiculous 'process'.

I think I posted on Saturday that we were making a pig's ear of it, to the confusion of some. Clearer now?

While I was behind the idea of OGS - if it was an unknown random coach who we'd never heard of who had done what he had - he'd have none of the support he had.

I reckon people want the job, they just won't do it with a peanut transfer budget and the shit squad we have. If there was 20m to spend we'd have got Martinez last year. As it is you pay peanuts.......

true , what chance of a good manager then ;(      I think Id be really happy with Lambert to be honest

Grayson or Holloway would be very underwhelming.  Barry Bannan tweeted some unflattering things about Grayson after his loan spell at Leeds (where he wasn't used much), and Holloway has already expressed his feelings about Villa, so we're obviously not big enough for the likes of him.

Maybe its the american way, much prefer dougs way of deciding on who you want and going out to try and get them.

How would people feel about a manager like Karl Robinson?

Interesting , as would be lee clark- i find the thought of grayson very much a dour choice.

Robinson will make a good manager but maybe too big a step up right now but id prefer him to grayson, shades of graham turner though.

Do you mean before or after we'd googled him to find out who the fuck he is?

A bit gutted about OGS cause he was unknown and has done well so far in his career. Wasn't arsed that he hasn't any big club experience (see JG, BL, Wenger etc). I think we've really missed out on someone special.

I'd prefer Rodgers now but can't see that happening. Sigh. Lambert or Martinez I guess. Meh.

I didn't see your post on Saturday, what were you referring to as being fucked up? The process of having a few names and speaking to them all first before annointing a winner?

If so, I kind of agree with that. Look at the reaction of Rodgers to Liverpool - some managers clearly don't like that way of doing it.

One thing I think we got wrong last time was being so fucking nice - asking for permission rather than doing what 99% of all other clubs would do, which is speaking to agents off the record first.

I really hope we're not going to go down that path again.
