If the vast majority were in favour of OGS, the candidate that has the closest approximation to him (in terms of his football-side style) is Brendan Rodgers.
And he would move, surely, for the opportunity to ply his trade on a bigger stage.

Already stated he wants to stay at swansea and finish the job, cant see him coming here.

just to cheer everyone up, a speculative question. If Larry Grayson gets the gig how would it compare to Randy's appointment of TSM ?

Now OGS was at 28/1 last night, this morning he has come down to 5/1 on Skybet....maybe its all cloak and daggers!!??

Anyway, heres the latest according to the bookies.

Lambert
Martinez
Grayson
Poyet
Di Matteo
Solksjaer
K Mac
Benitez
Holloway
Lennon
Billy Davis
Dalglish
Rogers
Curbishley
AVB
......and so on.

If truth be told I can see us springing out another douche with the announcement at the end of July with the announcement of Gary Megson...

...I just dont see what Faulkner brings to the table!

Worse i reckon for those who wanted OGS. At least last summer no-one was that enthused about Martinez.  Personally OGS and Grayson are about the same. Very uninspiring but better than Mcleish

Grayson, reinvigorate the club? Christ.

Good suggestion although with the busy fixture scheduling around Christmas and Easter, I fear his mind may be elsewhere.

He'll get it.

He's nailed on, in fact.
The high wages we'd pay him would mean he'd be hammered with tacks.

Relieved that Solksjaer is out of the running as I had reservations about him.

Still hope it will be Lambert but not confident and increasingly concerned it will be another 'Eck type' signing like McCarthy *shudders*

Not exactly ecstatic about the prospect of Grayson, but he at least had Leeds playing reasonable football for a while and he would see us as a big step up. If we are to go down the old player route, then would prefer Southgate though.

Come on greg, surely you cant really think grayson and ogs are about the same?

Im hoping randy throws everything into making lambert an offer to good to refuse.

They had Lord McGrath on TS this morning, and he said he thinks it's because there's no money and OGS has thought about it and decided he wouldn;t be good for him professionally.  He did refer to us as "we" though!!

I reckon people want the job, they just won't do it with a peanut transfer budget and the shit squad we have. If there was 20m to spend we'd have got Martinez last year. As it is you pay peanuts.......

That was in relation to the Liverpool job though where they've stated they're looking at 12 candidates. I can't blame him for turning it idown. Why risk upsetting your club and supporters for a 1 in 12 chance at a job where people will get on your back almost immediately for not being Kenny Dalglish, Jose Mourinho or Pep Guardiola? I do wonder whether if he was offered the Villa job whether he would accept it. Swansea still train at a leisure centre and his office is a broom cupboard such are the facilities that he has to work with.
