I wish the club hadn't said anything about OGS turning us down. Now anyone looks our 2nd choice when in reality it may have not been.

They had little choice once the cat was out of the bag about the offer.

yeah but they could have said neither side was pursuing it, and we didn't make an offer did we? He just ruled himself out. Now  we've got a Martinez situation where anyone looks 2nd best

Domingos Paciencia is now my top choice. He wants the job, he's young and ambitious, did very well at Braga. Stumbled at Sporting, but he didn't do outright badly. I'm just worried otherwise we'll end up with Grayson or Curbs. Last season we had Quiche Sanchez Flores announce interest, and somehow ended up with McLeish.. I don't want another situation like that.

I feel a bit for the club, here; we've barely said a word about the candidates we're speaking to, we approached OGS for discussions as part of the interview process, he wasn't offered the job, and the whole situation has been reported and blown up. Much like Martinez last summer. Shows that, while one party can be discrete and professional about things, if the other party isn't, not a lot you can do about it.

Villa have always said they'd be speaking to a few potential new coaches. So we've got a Plan B. Actually, OGS may have been the Plan B, or Plan C.

2nd best? Don't you mean 3rd best? Don't forget that Brendan Rodgers ruled himself out long ago.

I'm sick of you trying to put a positive edge on all whats going on.

Yes, yes, yes (assuming his language skills are up to it).

Apparently he's spent the last two years studying Gabbyagbonlabish.

He ruled himself out though I was under the impression no offer was made. It's common knowledge we were looking at other applicants anyway

Molde are holding a press conference to announce it this afternoon. How were we meant to keep that quiet?

Didn't the 'statement' say we were no longer considerign him as opposed to him turning it down?

Martinez for me, hasnt he said he prefers the idea of villa job to scouse job....

The liverpool faithful wont have him anyway - even if he is appointed...

Ian rush will be sat in the stands each week or something and they will demand he takes over! lol
