OGS seems the type of bloke who wont stand any crap, or for being a lazy arse.
I can see him rattling a few cages here and deservedly so.

Also OGS will have one important tool to use against the players that the last 2 managers havent had........the full support and backing of the fan base.

I fully believe that the players have hid in the last 2 regimes, happy to not put their all in as they can blame the manager. This won't happen again.

I also agree.  Some of the players have hidden behind the manager's unpopularity the last year, they won't have that excuse again if they appoint OGS.

TBF, when AML pointed this out many accused him of making excuses.

I actually agreed with him - still deserved the boot though.

I would prefer Lambert, and would be quite excited about the new season with him on board assuming that there are funds available to buy at least three defenders and a ball winner for the midfield (without this whoever takes over will struggle).

If OGS gets the job then hopefully it would go well, but I would be very nervous going into the season with such an unproven manager. I don't know enough about him to form a view on how good he is, whereas Lambert is obviously talented.

Lambert has done very well in England with two clubs now, and has improved every year. He has mainly bought younger players and knows how to get the best from them. He is also tactically sound, and a good motivator.

Not fussed on Martinez.

Agreed.
Although I would expnad on Martinez and hopes he ends up at L-pool. I really don't get the fuss over him.
OGS would be like a blind date, eiither you get there and she is a stunna with massive norks who can't keep her hands of you....or you realise it was a mistake and go home to watch Babestation.

Yup he did.

Unfortunately a lot of the responses from my fecless mates were " its the training" , "its the tactics" etc etc

Now I am not absolving Eck from all blame but shades of grey give players places to hide. And my god this spineless lot took advantage!

I like others are more excited by OGS than i am lambert - mainly due to its a gamble and a venture into the unknown but there have been a history of many great players being a perfect fit to be a manager yet not being able to do it (Wierdly more of them from United than anyone else - Kidd / Charlton / Bruce / keane / Ince)

If it was purely on footballing CV in management then you should look no further than Lambert

What i do think however is that whoever it is they will need a welcome like that which MON got to make them feel at home and supported from the start. Not only will that endear them to us but also show them fucking players that there is now no hiding place left for them.

100% correct.  The MON welcome energised everyone, not sure the next appointment can recapture that level of optimism but i'td be great if it could.

Whoever it is, there are a lot of players who could be potentially lined up against the wall for the firing squad. Also it's make or break time for Gabby, he was fucking dreadful at the end of the season and his attitude was appalling. He's too old to talk about potential now and needs to perform consistently well.

The club needs fundamental change, from top to bottom.

One thing I do hope is that OGS gets help where he needs it. I also hope Lerner backs him with money, rather than thinking "did well with Man U youth team, so he can work with kids, so he can just use the ones we have".

We've got a major squad rebuild to start doing ASAP this summer, he has got to be backed.

Yes there does need to be a decent net spend to turn us around. A focus on young and hungry players, rather than over the hill has beens happy to collect their ridiculous wages(numerous examples of those at Villa over recent years.)

I watched a great Norwegian film recently, Troll Hunter. A couple of trolls brought over would soon sort this bunch of tossers.

they would be better at center backs , than the ones we have at the moment

I dunno they share similarities with our centre halves, they turn to stone in sunlight.
