I really believe we are the perfect club for any up and coming young  manager.

Poor old Liverpool.  Nobody wants to manage them.  They all want to manage the Villa instead!!

Has the world gone sane??!!

Just wild speculation in that article, but I think some managers would view Villa as a club where they could go in and have the opportunity to rebuild the club exactly the way they wanted.  It is not often a manager gets the chance to take over at a big club and shape it exactly how they want.  They won't get that chance at Liverpool and I think some managers will be clever enough to see that now would be the ideal time to take over at Villa.

I also think they way Liverpool treated Roy is still fresh in the memory.  Anyone with half a brain can see that McLeish ruined his chance at Villa and needed to be sacked.  It was done with dignity and bot sides have been nothing but open and honest about it.  McLeish didn't get a slating from the club etc.  Therefore, Villa is prime for a good crack, whereas Liverpool are that "half arsed club who used to be famous."

Also,  as part of a process, if Holloway is actually on the list, the club would be doing the right thing in talking to him.  I actually think he'd be fun!  Press conferences would have players hanging off his every word.  He would also get his team playing decent football.  Martinez is still my preferred option, although I'd be happy with Lambert, OGS too.

Martinez should NOT be on the list (a minute's applause for surviving relegation yet again? How smalltime do we want to get?), and neither should Holloway, though i agree with the poster who said we should invite the latter for interview, then when he arrives at VP tell him, "You're just a half-arsed twat that was never famous what are you doing here?"

I subscribe to the view that Villa is a great club to take over as manager right now. All the conditions would favour a good up-and-coming manager.

Holloway?  No ta.

I've already got a three-letter acronym for him though, a la OGS, FSW or AVB.  It's CCC (Carrot Crunching C***).

RDM, the way he was whistling walking down from the plane today?  Anyone see it?  Arrogant, "i've done a fantastic job here and I'm Gods gift to football" type attitude. No way is he getting the Chelsea job.  I hope that Randy isn't fooled into thinking he's any good.  The Chelsea players have been telling him what to do.  He's aloof and a bit of a twat according to West Brom mates.  I don't want him, not what Villa require and yet his CV looks amazing now doesn't it?  Just shows you how easy it is to look good when in actual fact you're useless.  No wonder McLeish got the gig last year.
