If these rumours of Randy's plane are true, I might have a small wager on Schadenfreude.

I think it would be a great gamble. To change direction and start afresh, with new ideas etc, a young, promising manager should be the  way forward. We have tried the old in Houllier, we have tried the steady, mates with the lads, respected but not really that successful in Eck. That leaves the young, fresh inexperienced. More of a gamble, but possibly bigger return.

Does Lambert count as young?

I know squat all about what he's done, apart from win the Norwegian League. But young, vibrant and certainly had a good mentor and that winning mentality. Hell, why not..bit of a gamble but then, arent they all.

The more I think on it, the happier I'd be with OGS, he really is the right kind of target, young, good student of the game, well respected in european football, good record so far (despite it being short).  Ticks most of the boxes for me.

The step up in quality could be a concern but until he gets the chance no one knows and all the things I've heard of him suggest he has the right attitude and aptitude to be a big success.

I'm getting more and more into the potential idea. Shame it could all be over nothing!

Where's Eig Head when you need him? I'm sure he can give us the lowdown on OGS.

OGS  would be a fantastic choice.I think the players would respond to him and if we are 3-2 down with 3 mins to go he can also put on his boots and score a couple!!

With the current crop of players we'll be more than 3-2 down with 3 mins to play!!
