One of my students who's good mates with Gary Gardner has been told by him to put a bet on Simon Grayson who apparently was at Villa Park all day yesterday. My student has just put a bet of £80 on it.

I saw Grayson going in the directors' entrance at the Bolton game. I don't know if I already posted that somewhere. I daresay he's keen for some kind of job at Villa but even he would find it hard to argue that he should be first-team manager.

To be honest chaps, I remember I was at work at The Mail one Saturday some years back. On here somebody mentioned a 'Vassell to Man U' rumour which I repeated to a member of The Sunday Mercury staff. Lo and behold the next day the 'Man Utd are showing serious interest in Darius Vassell'.
