Gone right off lambert. Its the MON thing i guess. Not so much that i think he's a clone of him, more Lerner does.

I'm sure Lerner hates O'Neill more than you do. Just because two people wear glasses, doesn't mean they're exactly the same. See also: Sarah Palin and Gandhi. Both wear glasses, but they are different people.
Prove it

He's got a point. I've never seen them in the same room.

One thing Lambert seems capable of is switching formations effectively when facing different sides. Or even during games. How alien a concept has that been down B6 in recent years?
Exactly. He has also left Holt out on countless occasions this season because he wasn't doing it or because he didn't fit with the formation he wanted to play. Could you ever imagine MON doing that with Gabby? No chance. We could guess the team every week.

I can see why he changed his name.  Nailing Ghandi just doesn't have the right ring to it!

I think in truth, Lambert, Martinez, Poyet or Rodgers are all really interesting, and I hope we end up with one of them. Lambert worries me, but might be the best fit for us as a club I agree, I can't see our crowd staying patient while Martinez and Rodgers try and implement their style of play.

Unless offers come in they're here for 12 months at worst.  If he can utilise them, presuming they aren't sold, then that's a positive in my book.

yep. thats the nasty catch 22. We can't get rid of them or replace them so we have to work with them. I'm not sure i can take another season of Dunne - only time i was reasonably happy with the defence was when he was crocked and then he's back being shit. One match turning mistake per game guaranteed with that guy.

I think Martinez would burst into tears if he got the abuse that McLeish did.

I've got a funny feeling it will be Gus Poyet with a DOF.

Would prefer Lambert but Poyet with someone like Clarke as a coach would be acceptable, I think that Comolli is needed as a DOF also

Poyet's managerial record is very similar to one of the previous up and coming young managers we appointed from down the leagues - Graham Turner. The club's in a very different position from when Turner took over but if we're looking askance at Lambert and Rodgers being one-season wonders, then how is Poyet so very different? At least the latter two got out of the second division.

But then, all of the managers likely to be within our grasp are going to be risky in some measure..

I agree. Lambert's my number one choice. I just have a feeling we'll get Poyet and a DOF.

Aj Jazeera reports that Chemical Ali has been given prison leave to be interviewed for The Aston Villa Manager Position. Randy Lerner is known to be impressed with his tactics and handling of the media during the Invasion of Iraq. Ali gave the media an insight into the type of football that the Villa Park faithfull can expect. "is easy you see, first we stay in formation, they attack we do not move, then they run away, they attack again and this time we attack them back and they are running, screaming and howling off like school girls being menaced by a tramp"

Collymore just pointed out on TalkSport that our biggest home win of the season was 2-0 against Wigan. All I want in the next manager is someone who's gonna win games at Villa Park :(

We insisted on PL experience last time, which Poyet doesn't have as a manager. Could be different this time round, I suppose.
