Tell you what, Brian McNally from the Sunday Mirror is having none of this Dalglish worship

Bold, brave move by Liverpool owners to ditch under-achieving football boss & PR disaster Kenny Dalglish.Gives #lfc a chance to move forward

Patrick Collins aptly summed up the #lfc legend when he said - “ Kenny Dalglish is not as remotely as clever as he thinks he is. " Spot on!

As a #Celtic fan I admired Kenny Dalglish as a player. But dealing with him as a manager was not pleasant.Rude, arrogant & at times ignorant.

I reckon they'll get benitez back in.

perfect. Give it a year and both Ferguson and Mancini will be fucking with his head. He won't have enough paper to write down all his facts.

Also, David Conn on the hilarity:

David Conn ‏ @david_conn
So Kenny Dalglish has gone and as of now, Fenway's Liverpool have no manager, director of football, head of press, or new stadium plan #lfc

Although annoying because potentially they could be in for our targets (although I'm with those expecting a big name) it's good in a way because it will completely deflect any proess attention from us now, so we can go about our business quietly and efficiently and bag our man.
Whelan's babbling on TS this morning, however does maybe make me think they've sounded out Martinez.

If you keep treating the media like shit, don't be surprised if they bite back.

Maybe Houllier will go for it and he can have another Liverpool love in.  :D

I reckon they'll get Benitez back but i don't really care who they have as long as we get Lambert.

Dalglish's managerial ability was summed up when I watched our game at their place - bringing Carroll on in place of Downing. Not to mention what he's done in the transfer market.

It's nice to see someone in the press who's not bowing at his feet.

Shite manager and arrogant bastard.

MON for Liverpool?

*runs for cover*

I wish. Apparently, according to SSN, Liverpool have approached another PL manager and it's not Martinez.

I could see Guardiola taking it actually. I can't see them appointing Martinez, to replace Dalglish they have to go for a big name that can handle it and is a proven winner. Step forward Rafa I reckon, I reckon he has waited for it and will take it back.
I was talking to a Lplop fan today and he really wants Benitez back. He reckons that Rafa was about the best manager they had until the Americans turned up and forced him out - also he couldn't understand what I found so funny about that!

I think it shows for an owner, ceo, board etc its not easy to choose a manager as we fans believe it is. Geordies creamed for their messiah and that went tits up. Pool wanted their King back and that didnt work out too well. Then to the other extreme Villa appoint the complete opposite to fans wishes which well lets say didnt work out too well either did it?

One thing I would say is now the Liverpool job is available and soon the Chelsea job will be, it'll give Lerner & Faulkner the push they need to appoint someone fast!
