i do not think we will be going for the same names

Yep dont be suprised if Rafa's back at Anfield or some other top European manager. Very much doubt theyd go after Lambo, Roberto or Buck Rogers. If they wont give KKK a chance they sure wont be prepared to give someone inexperienced a go.

Liverpool fans won't give Martinez a chance like they dismissed Hodgson. Their egos won't be able to handle the fact that he's come from Wigan. Most of them still have haircuts from the 80's and still think Rush is playing number 9. They'll demand a bigger name.

disagree,  they have been bought up on that pass and move football and will love his style

obviously I'm only interested in the Scouse job as it may have a bearing on our employment prospects.

Wouldn't you love to be Paul Lambert's agent right now?
Imagine the 15%!!

He'll be gutted he didn't hold out a bit longer before taking the Sunderland job.

Indeed. What a dead end job he has there at Sunderland. Hahahaha

I could see Guardiola taking it actually. I can't see them appointing Martinez, to replace Dalglish they have to go for a big name that can handle it and is a proven winner. Step forward Rafa I reckon, I reckon he has waited for it and will take it back.

After the way they hounded Hodgson out I think Liverpool fans will be expecting/demanding a bigger, more established name than Lambert, Rodgers, or Martinez.  I reckon Benitez could well end up back there.

Presumably he'll wait until mid-August though.

Surely they've learned the error of bringing back former managers?

Maybe not though. Just had a sneaky tenner on Shankly just in case. Ok, he's dead, but football's more important than that.

I hope you're right. I really think Lambert is the next big thing, possibly the next Moyes. I will be very disappointed if we miss out on Lambert and only Rogers and to a lesser extent Martinez would make up for the disappointment.

it has nothing to do with his style though John. Hodgson's teams play nice stuff. It's Martinez and the fact that he isn't a leading name. It will kill them if they appointed him, and especially on the back of their Grand Wizard being dumped. Plus Martinez has some colour to his skin so that will never do at the meetings around the fire.
