I think it's Chris Hughton and he's spoken to Shay Given.

I know we've got to 205 pages but we seem to have skirted the issue; who DO you want as new manager?

I'd like Jurgen Klinsmann. I don't know what it would cost to prise him from the US but I really can't get too excited about anyone else.

I had a real gut feeling we'd get Klinsmann just before Houllier was appointed (even stuck a tenner on it). Would've been more than happy with him, and still would.

For me one of Lambert, Martinez, Rodgers, Low, AVB or Benitez. I'd be happy with any of those.

The likes of Gus Hiddink would be excellent.

How I'd sell it to him is you manage us for 3 years and have a free hand to change and evolve the training/youth/scouting as you see fit.  Then you can move into a DOF role and pick your successor.

Are these short odds on McCarthy just a piss take from the bookies? I mean the appointment of McLeish was just so ridiculous, they've probably just decided as a wind up to put McCarthy in the list. After all he's just relagated (or half relegated) one of our local rivals, has a history of relegation and turgid football. They probably think Randy's capable of making the same balls up again, or they're just taking the michael.

I would fucking pray and hope that the short odds have nothing to do with any ITK info. If there's any basis in fact then I'm bloody worried.

Christ, my buttocks are starting to clench together again and will remain be-clenched until we rule Fat Sam, Curbs, Mick McC and Chris Hughton out. These are not what we need. It's going to be a roller coaster like last summer...a build up to the last person you'd think would end up as manager....please don't let it happen again. The board can't take another gamble....they have spent a fortune on paying off managers that haven't worked out for us.

Pulis, but no need to walk as Pennant has offered to give him a lift?

I know its a very small betting market but people are putting money on MM.   That is a worry.

Or better yet, "Don't bother handing your CV in Mick. Better off trying the Hawthorns mate."
