I'm going to put £50 on Mick getting the job, so if some disaster happens and he does get the job I'll be a little bit happy :)

I wouldn't waste £50 mate, it isn't going to happen.

I was all in favour of Lambert and also thought he would be the board's choice as well, but thinking about it again I'm not so sure.

They made a mistake with the Scottish Manager, of that their is no doubt and they've pretty much admitted as much.  K-Mac and Sid are in their plans, who both like to play football a certain way, as did Houllier.

Lambert is less that style and more similar to MON where the result is all important.  He isn't long ball as some would have you believe, but likes to vary tactics as necessary.  I like that about him myself, but if the idea is to go back to what we were trying to do with Houllier and utilize the K-Mac and Sid, then Rodgers or martinez make more sense.

It would be nice to have a manager who has a plan B and Plan C thou , unlike MON and McLeish

One of the candidates has said that he would walk to Villa Park for the job and has already been in touch with one of our players. Guess which one and who he has spoken to?

I'm sure McCarthy would walk to Villa Park for the job, but that means nothing.

There's a group of British/Irish managers who aren't bad at getting teams promoted, but have proved time and again they are out of their depth and can't cut it in the PL, mainly because their approach is old school and tactically prehistoric.  I'd say that group includes McLeish, Warnock, possibly Coyle and definitely McCarthy.  If RL is even considering anyone from that group, then he's heading in the wrong direction again.   I'd also like to think we would avoid anyone from the group of managers that would include  likes of O'Neill, Bruce and Allardyce, who are similarly old school, but manage to make their "pragmatic" football work in the PL, to an extent at least.  I'd like to think that MM's relegations with Sunderland and Wolves would automatically rule him out, but RL has a bit of history in that respect, so you never know.   Please just find someone who knows about tactics, pass and move, possession, creativity and organisation, and can get the players to go with him. Surely they aren't that rare?

why do people vote on Laudrup to be baggies manager and hes not mentioned in Villas odds ,and MM is 33/1 with baggies.
all these managers in the odds are bollocks , Im sure If I had a tenner on Laurel and HArdy they would go to 4/1.

I know we've got to 205 pages but we seem to have skirted the issue; who DO you want as new manager?

I'd like Jurgen Klinsmann. I don't know what it would cost to prise him from the US but I really can't get too excited about anyone else.

Gus Hiddink has a get out clause in his contract, spend whatever it takes, and tell him to appoint a No2 who can succeed him. If they really want to get the fans back on side he's the man

I would have him back as Player-Manager just to take corners.

I think it's Chris Hughton and he's spoken to Shay Given.
