Lambert's 15/8 now. Mick's on 2 and Roberto's 11/4.

A little over a year ago Coyle was flavour of the month as he had Bolton pretty high in the league and a good cup run going. Plenty on here were saying they wouldn't mind him. Then came the twatting by Stoke in the semi and they've been shite ever since.

That is the one thing that always concerns me with next big thing type managers.
I really can't stand Coyle and anytime i'm asked why I can never come up with a decent reason, I think he's just got one of those faces.

I'm the same. I just don't like him. He also looks like a bird. The kind with feathers, not the kind with funbags.

Who would make you happy Greg?

I'd look abroad, but we know that won't happen

But at who?

they pay far less abroad. One of things i criticised MON about was he didn't look at players in foreign leagues in the Europa places who were the same standard us but on lower wages . Same goes for managers

Come on now Peter. He isn't giving you names. He'd find faults if Pep Guardiola waltzed through the front door begging to take on the job.

Indeed, it would mean our support being patient for a season or two while he transformed us, sadly that aint going to happen.

heh. I haven't even looked. We don't do managers with no premiership experience. Pointless...

Don't agree with that

Some of these little clubs don't have half a high opinion of themselves. One season in the Premier League and they're making plans to challenge the Mancs.

I might be completely wrong about him but Rodgers actually gives that impression too. I think he's a good manager, but Lambert is just right in every way for us.

Lambert is just a 2nd rate MON. I'd be gutted if he turned up. even has the same disloyalty gene.

No, MON is a second-rate Lambert. Very similar in some ways, but Lambert has many ideas to implement their shared footballing template, whereas MON only has one.

Rodgers is very self-confident certainly, but never seems to me be in a 'better than thou' kind of way.

Besides, I wholeheartedly disagree with this notion of Lambert's perfection. Norwich played the most direct football in the league last season outside of Stoke and Blackburn (I won't call whatever it was we did 'direct' because that implies a plan). The direction we should be going in is one of nurturing a playing style based on possession, not a return to, as I allude to above, a sophisticated version of MON-ball.

i'd much prefer rodgers. Even given the same turds to polish as Houllier at least most of them will be gone on in a year. Not sure Lambert is better than MON yet, at least as far as motivating players and for all his faults the one thing MON could do was get average players playing ok, althouh i did notice he failed to get above Bruce's finish last year despite his godlike status in mackemville
