The Athenian Daily reports -Dimitri Hafakabab has been identified as the new coach for Aston Villa, Hafakabab gained acalaim by winning the Helenic Humous League with Panotaxalotofus an is now ready to bring his unique coaching style to the English Premier League, He was reported to say," football is a simple game, tis like chasing a goat over barbed wire fence, even though you score you still may feel a prick"

Well at least 2 of them are better than McLeish. Worrying though I admit.

What's wrong with those two, say, working in the director of football/manager positions respectively?

Nothing wrong with it. That's the point of it. I have heard that, if they bring in a DOF, the manager will have to settle for our coaching staff.

Calm the fuck down, everyone. There's no way it'll be Allardyce or Holloway.

I had a text earlier that McCarthy is definitely a runner. We could do a lot worse IMO

Big Sam is the best of those 3, but can't see it if West Ham win on Saturday.

If you look at how injuries have ravaged our season these past two years, there might be some logic in the Fat Sam connection.

He is big into sports science, and has a whole team of dieticians, nutritionists and physios that he takes to every club.  Except West Ham, I'm led to believe.  So he might welcome the opportunity to be reunited with them again at VP.

From the clubs point of view, they might think that less rehabilitation time for our key players will automatically result in more points, whilst at the same time Fat Sam won't be demanding the earth vis a vis transfer funds and so forth.

There's sound logic behind that Kevin

And a very tenuous link.  Some people reckon that Lerner knows nothing about football so how is he going to come to that conclusion.

Via Faulkner perhaps?

and people reckon he knows even less!

Not saying I'd want it, OMVF.

Just that based on the painting by numbers approach taken by the board for the last two appointments, I can see them going for it.

Need more of a foreign dimension to playing matters and player recruitment - and preferably a manager more affable and chatty than the last bloke?  -  appoint Houllier!   (even if his his star is on the wane)

Have a weakspot defensively and need a manager who can operate on a budget - appoint a defensive manager like McLeish!   (even if he is a shit defensive manager)

So yes, if they do seriously think that only injuries prevented us being a mid table> challenging for Europe side these past two years, a guy with Fat Sam's progressive approach to fitness (not his own, mind)  might be just what they're looking for.

Pretty certain Siralex would give him a glowing recommendation too, and we all know how much Beetroot features only wants the best for the Villa.

Gollum and Fat Sam are marginally better I suppose. Not my choices at all, Like I said its a bit worrying. I was happy yesterday now I'm expecting that moment like last summer. The McLeish moment.

Guardian says Randy's flying in tomorrow. They also reckon that "Villa aim to move swiftly and are determined to secure a young and ambitious manager whose appointment will give the club an immediate lift." So we're not getting Mick McCarthy, at least.
