If you look at how injuries have ravaged our season these past two years, there might be some logic in the Fat Sam connection.

He is big into sports science, and has a whole team of dieticians, nutritionists and physios that he takes to every club.  Except West Ham, I'm led to believe.  So he might welcome the opportunity to be reunited with them again at VP.

From the clubs point of view, they might think that less rehabilitation time for our key players will automatically result in more points, whilst at the same time Fat Sam won't be demanding the earth vis a vis transfer funds and so forth.

There's sound logic behind that Kevin

And a very tenuous link.  Some people reckon that Lerner knows nothing about football so how is he going to come to that conclusion.

Via Faulkner perhaps?

and people reckon he knows even less!

So now are we supposed to pray that West Ham win the play-off final?

If you don't want Sam at Villa Park, yes.

I am surprised Zola has not had another chance after West Ham. Did ok there on limited funds, kept them up, but was bombed out by Sullivan despite playing decent football.

Young, envigorating? Hmmm, sounds like fat Sam doesn't it? NOT.

It's silly season.
A couple have already pointed out that Sam could be DOF with Coyle, aged 46, as Manager. As has been pointed out, it all hinges on the Play-Off Final, after which Lerner is expected to move fast.
Oh shit it could be Holloway! Or the MK Dons manager he's only about 12 and experience is limited but getting a lot of good press lately.

How very exciting. A bloke who has no class and a bloke who deals in relegations.  From the frying pan into the fire.  Does Randy never learn!! Hopefully this gets put to bed when West Ham win the play off.  Unless of course, he wants Holloway?

I don't buy these rumours for a second, but I'll get the prayer mat out anyway.

I hate Holloway but he would be a good choice. His team play good football and they work hard for him. To be honest I don't want a manager because I like them I want a manager who can manage our team well.

And some have rumoured we are looking for a young, vibrant manager.

Gordon Cowans is 33/5, for what it's worth.

Interesting. His odds went down to the point that he was second favourite behind McLeish when he got the job last summer. I genuinely thought at the time that if the board got scared off by at the last minute by the fans reaction that they were going to go with him.

It's amazing I thought that too, and then they go and appoint McLeish.
