Just googled him, MK Dons manager, only 30 and never played league football. Never stopped Mourinho or Wenger though if memory serves.

Any idea how much it cost to pay him off?

I hear off Twitter (I know) that there was a clause in his contract that said if he didnt get 40 points in a season the amount of compensation that he would get would be minimal.......which IF true was a good piece of business

Timothy Abraham tweeted that yesterday.

Paul Lambert, Roberto Martinez.

Forgettable:

Steve Bruce, Mick McCarthy.

Fantaseeable:

Andres Villas Boas, Rafa Bernitez.

I know that this is no guarantee but a bloke I know reckons the Lambert deal was done a fortnight ago and we don't have to worry about McCarthy.

Then why did he motivate his players to beat us and cost us the money we could have got from finishing above Wigan? The dastardly bounder.

well there's definitely something in this Steve Nicol thing as he has dropped to 28-1. Not earth shattering I grant you, and I'll start to brick it when he hits single digits. I've been on the Toronto FC website and they had someone mention it in their version of Off Topic. Off to check out the New England forum. Those fans won't be happy as he is very popular over there. His teams are very organised and play some nice stuff on the deck.

I don't get why people are so keen on AVB. Is it just the name? Apparently the players at Chelsea never quite knew what he wanted. He alienated a lot of his squad, and the football wasn't very good. Granted he may well have turned things around, and he did well at Porto, but perhaps the English game isn't his thing. I actually think it'd be a huge gamble if we got him. With a squad of our standard and footballing ability, it could be an unmitigated disaster.

The likes of Lambert and Rodgers etc, at least know the English game and seem to have their players working singing to their song sheet.

Because they want to pull your fucking wang and seemingly are doing a good job of it.

Two reasons. firstly, professional pride for Lambert. Secondly, I reckon the Villa players didn't bother to compete because they wanted McLeish out and their deckchairs were waiting for them!! Seriously, it would be interesting to know if the players "knew" that McLeish was going, or had to finish below the 40 point mark to get ditched.

Funnily enough the same thing happened around 11 months ago.
