I really cant see Liverpool going after Martinez. Even for us it's a risk that requires imagination.
I dont think they have that luxury. The Dublin/Cornwall hordes will be asking for refunds on their duvet sets if they dont hit the ground running next season.

If wee Jimmy Krankie moves back under the stairs where he belongs, they'll go after a relative heavyweight.

I am not so sure. Remember Henry is sold on moneyball style of things, and may see Martinez as a type that can get the best out of the attributes of the players. I think he will do a cracking job at either, and if he goes to Liverpool they will be a force next season. Kenny has been clueless for a long time, but they still have some good players.

I dont understand the first line, but you're right, they do have good players that they've spent a fortune on so will want to give those resources to a "surer thing" than Martinez.
I would be absolutely gobsmacked if they were even considering him.

I still think that this is a chance. 33-1.
Have you had a bang on the head.First backing our ex-manager and now backing another one who takes sides down.

Read the article. That was the point of posting it. I am not saying that I support it or don't, just what is possible to happen.
That is rubbish.
Which bit of it?
All of it.Bolton got relegated because the manager didn't play to Boltons strength.Dropping Kevin Davis was a big mistake. He started picking him when it was too late.

A guy being interviewed on TalkShite now (sorry didn't catch his name/occupation) saying Lambert wouldn't come to Villa and Villa board won't want him purely because of the Martin O Neill link.

Absolute bollocks.

What about Martin Jol?  Cracking season at Fulham, European contacts and experience as well.

Won't leave them this season, too soon

The problem with coyle is that the stats do nothing to backup this idea that he's a positive attacking manager.  For some reason he's got this reputation but his Bolton side have never shown it.  Now it might be that he felt he didn't have the players to play that way, but then why sign reo-coker as one of your major summer deals in your first real window at the club if you want to play more patient attacking football?

No from me.

Of the names linked heavily so far it's martinez or lambert but I have big reservations over both (martinez has been at wigan a while but they've never looked like getting away from the bottom of the table, Lambert plays a very similar style to mon for me, concentrating on getting out wide and then getting crosses in).

Loew with Klinsmann upstairs would be my dream combo, but if not I I think an older manager with a young assistant who can take over should be the aim.  Van Gaal and Laursen for example.

From his interviews, I already get the feeling Lambert has been trying to imply that he would jump at the chance of managing us but obviously has to be diplomatic so to not disrespect Norwich or the guy who was in charge at the time.

Faulkner sounds a little glib for my liking. But he said pretty much the right things. We're looking for a manager to reinvigorate the club.

He is always quite cryptic with the press apparently.

Faulkner also suggested the axe fell on mcLeish asap, so things could move on quickly. It didn't sound like this will be a drawn out appointment as suggested previously.

Anyone got a recording? At this time of year pouring over words for hidden meanings it the reason for H&V to exist!

No, I fully expect the new manager to be onboard relatively sharpish. Its absolutely necessary in fact.

I don't see it as necessary as we obviosuly have no games and the market is always slow before a summer tournament.

I'd like them to take their time and get it right, with the man here for early June.
