Reading some of the suggestions here makes me realise why we have a reputation as 'fickle' - jesus mary and joseph would make a better fist of it than some of these suggestions - I mean - Glenn Hoddle?  Sami Hyppia?

Not that I'd want to go near either of those two, but reading your post it seems in your eyes "fickle" = "doesn't agree with you".

I'd take any from that list. All have a good footballing philosophy. All seem to get the best out their players too.

I have to say that I'm for Rogers too.
Would love AVB, but think he might be a touch pricey.
There are a couple of 'out of the box' suggestions:
Di Matteo with Wilkins.
Wenger, Arsenal fans have been saying for a couple of seasons that it might be time for a change, whether the board feel that way is another thing.

Not David Platt either.
Another thing. It is incredible how the phrase 'left field' has to be used in describing the new manager. Even McLeish was starting to use it.
Interesting comment by Mystery Man today regarding the sacking by the way.

I've not changed my mind, it's got to be Dowie.

I want to see Brendan Rodgers get the job. His footballing philosophy reminds me of Brian Clough. Who's main tenet was the ball is your friend keep it close to you and the other team can't hurt you, it's a philosophy that has been carried on  with some success by Wenger, and Swansea seem to play with the same idea.
Having said that, I still think that it will be RDM after he has finished temping at Chelsea on Saturday.

Read an article this morning suggesting that we are going to make an approach to Norwich for Lambert and because of his contract situation, the compensation would only be around £600,000.  The article also suggested that Mark Hughes is being considered, but I'm not sure he would leave QPR as they have money to spend.  It could be (probably is) pure speculation, but the most interesting name mentioned was the manager of Germany, Joachim Low.  Not quite sure where that one has come from, but he has done a good job with Germany and would be an exciting appointment.

After what happened last summer though, I am not getting my hopes up!!

I'm going to expect someone like Dowie, Les Reed or Kevin Blackwell, so then when it is someone better I won't be disappointed...
