I think I want Martinez.

We can pay higher wages than Wigan and that's taking into account the new wage structure. I think he could really create and mould a great team if given a blank canvass, which is basically what we are now and our youngsters can only improve under someone like him.

Plus I see Swansea and he has been part of their journey and the style of play they play. Imagine Darren bent in a team like Swansea. Obviously it would take time to achieve. But it would be exciting.

I tell you what, I reckon would Martinez would jump at it this time. There seems to have been a shift in the boardroom.

He can want it. He turned us down once, so he's missed his chance as far as I'm concerned.

He's shit anyway.

Martinez needs to have a comfortable mid-table finish with Wigan for people to be totally convinced by him. He probably does deserve  a bigger job but i'd rather another club took a chance with him.

Couldn't agree more!

We should not approach Martinez for the job again. If he wants it he should approach us.

I like Lambert and would go for him. I wouldn't bother with Martinez unless his agent encourages us to do so (if we were so inclined) as I don't want to see our usual managerial appointment farce and see him reject us twice. We would be a laughing stock.

I think Benitez would be a good shout as I'm sure he's itching to get back into the game and I can't see a top English side being available for him.

Maybe Slaven Bilic, even?

Okay. Martinez/Rodgers are both good coaches who can build, my reasoning is simply this ... can we give a coach two/three years to build whilst flirting with relegation until they get to something that we'd like to see. Would we survive? Lambert, however, can vary tactics and work with a variety of player types, which is why I feel he's a better fit, because if a Martinez/Rodgers comes in and starts taking us seemingly 'backwards' in order to go forwards, none of us would have it! Whereas I think Lambert would get us comfortably top half from the off and still build for the future. Just my thoughts.

Martinez is the only one of them used to making do with a
minus net spend so's the obvious choice.. Lambert spent 6m last season so we may be able to better that. Rodgers 8m? not sure. I'd probably go with Cowans still if we're still going down the "ajax of the midlands" route.

There would have been no difference this season between McLeish or Martinez.  It's not where either of them came from....it's their poor record which was the sticking point.  We can't afford to make this same mistake again.

In no particular order
Paul Lambert
Nigel Adkins
Brendan Rogers
Brian McDermott
And if he doesn't get the Chelsea job...Di Matteo

Capello doesn't fit with the young, energetic types the club are said to be looking for! Neither does Ranieri, Rafa, Bruce, Curbishley et al.  I wonder if the club have already identified who they want and have made noises towards that club already.
