Another vote of confidence for Lambert from a Norwich-supporting mate. He calls him 'God'. So I naturally told him that Paul McGrath is not in the running.

Delighted with Randy's no nonsense statement today.  I think Randy might be angry with himself for listening and being taken in by Eck's shit.  The new man will be backed financially.  I'd love to see what AVB could do with a bit of money behind him. Young and exciting?  Could be exciting, as could Martinez, who has an eye for the south American bargain.  Lambert is the safe option I think, and could be the best choice.  I'd be happy with any of these.

There was a Turkish bloke who I always thought would do well over here, cant mind his name but managed their national side and a few in Italy and Germany.

Fatih Terim?

My concern with Martinez is that him and his teams have spent most of their Premiership lives bobbing around the relegation zone. 6 good games at the end of the season, two years on the bounce, don't make a fantastic manager. I'd prefer someone with a little more success as a manager. Whether we can get them is a totally different question.

Lambert is on the famous MON 1 year rolling contract...... interesting from a number of angles, if he is successful he goes cheap, but may mean getting him is easier...

In fairness though he's never had much resource. Now obviously it depends on Randy whether he'd have much here, but we at least know he can get N'Zog playing.

One of the things I liked about the statement from Faulkner and Lerner today was firstly they mentioned 'long-term objectives' which suggests they are now working to a plan. Secondly there is no mention of 'Premier League experience' for the new manager. Now we may get a manager who has managed in the Premier League, but at least that hasn't been highlighted as key factor in their planning. Maybe the finally get it and about time.

It is a shame someone like Solskjaer is not considered, would be interesting. Might come with a good letter too....

He's chums with MON as well, If we do make an approach for Lambert, I imagine he'll be asking MON for his thoughts on the club. Something to think about.

Martinez needs to have a comfortable mid-table finish with Wigan for people to be totally convinced by him. He probably does deserve  a bigger job but i'd rather another club else took a chance with him.

If he has anything about him, and I believe he does, he would have already done that given the media interest, and he hasn't come out and said 'no way' yet, in fact he's been very coy on his own future!

I tell you what, I reckon would Martinez would jump at it this time. There seems to have been a shift in the boardroom.
