Vital Villa contributors are in agreement of a Zola - Poyet dream team to take the club forward...

They are? Well I wonder why they haven't been installed already then.

Just on Sky Sports that Slaven Bilic is quiting Croatia after the Euros. We might be seeing him holding a Villa scarf on the back pages at the end of June?

ive said for months that slaven bilic would be a great fit and was banging my drum long before mcleish was appointed. But that was before AVB was touted as a possibility! Come on Andre!

I was listening to talksport on the way to work and it is breaking that Di Matteo will be out of chelski whatever the result of the champs league final. Got me to thinking he could be a good appointment but whoever it is needs to be interested in the long term project i think, We need stability. WHoever comes in, this should be a no brainer - after what we have witnessed the last year or two, they simply cannot fail to improve us....

It sounds like there could be one or two decent gettable managers this time around. It would be typical of us if we were to just stick with McLeish.

There is obviously going to be lots of movement between clubs with managers leaving their respective clubs i.e. AVB, DeMatteo ,Poyet etc.
If we end up keeping McLeish with managers of this calibre available then it could be construed as malicious and downright vindictive by lerner to keep him.

I want a young and hungry foreign coach who will use our home grown players with several quality imports and play football properly and exciting and be Aston Villa's Arsene Wenger who transform the club for Aston Villa like Arsenal (or Barcelona :))

Any defensive manager who is afraid to lose should not apply for this job. We don't need old school manager or frightened manager.

Depending on which year the position becomes vacant, I would go for Ron Wylie, with Malcolm Beard as assistant. They have a great depth of knowledge.

AVB is a good shout, could be quite exciting. Great knowledge of the Portuguese league, quality players for reasonable prices.

It doesn't even seem that long ago that every time we had a vacancy, Ron Wylie would get touted.

Would be chuffed with AVB, less so with Bilic.  We need someone in before the Euros anyway, as there's plenty of work to be done.

Unlike many fans I don't hate Alex McLeish mainly because hate is such a strong word which I reserve  for fascists, racists, muggers, etc however he is not the right manager for us. The problem with websites where fans can post their views is that it is too easy to say what you don't like without setting out a clear alternative. In addition it easy to be completely unrealistic, so with this in mind and taking into consideration the fact that:

A) it will cost between £2m - £3 million to get rid of Alex,
B) and we are losing around £200,000 every home match from empty seats,
C) and TV companies are no longer interested in seeing us play which results in a lack of revenue,
D) and you get about £1 million for each place you finish higher up in the league,
E) and some of the noise now coming out of Villa Park are clearly indicating that some of the players and the board know that they have made a mistake in appointing McLeish

Who do we want as our next manager and more  importantly why?

My choices would be

1) Ian Holloway – works on a tight budget, managed in the premiership and plays attacking football

2) Roberto Martinez – if Wigan are relegated and no bigger club snaps him up we need to remember he didn't come for an interview last time but would be guaranteed to show this time.

3) Gianfranco Zola– managed in the premiership, had no money to spend, and tried to play football

So be positive look forward who would do you want and why?

'hate' is only is a word. Soon, talking will be banned across the world. It only conveys an opinion of someone.

That would be absolutely great-I like how he plays football and how he speaks of the game. Good choice. Get him in
