If we go down there will def be a change, if we stay up it will still be considered, but I suspect AM may hold on another season.  Last season we had a decent shot at getting someone like Moyles, but that ship has now sailed and we have to look at the next level down and I think Lambert would be a good short.

No way. McL's already gone.

can people please stop giving credence to the idea that McLeish will be here next season!
This is officially our worst ever season - EVER!
If Lerner keeps him there will only be tumbleweed blowing through an empty Villa Park.

He didnt have a chance before as he'd already gave his word to stay at Wigan before we approached him.
This time, it would be different perhaps.

I'd worry about how his teams spend three quarters of the season being ropey and a quarter being imperious, but maybe thats the restraints of the club he's at. I wouldn't be as against it as I might once have been though.

The same oud be said of Moyes who hasn't started a season before Christmas. It might also be possible to argue that it took Martinez this long to get his message across and his team are now buying into what he's been preaching. I watched a bit of their game today and their movement puts us to shame. Then again, the movement and invention of mountains make us look slow.

Didn't they do pretty much the same thing last season though?

I've wondered about this. He does tend to lose important, if not crucial, players every season. Maybe it takes him that time to get his message across to that level of player. Hopefully with our youngsters he'd find himself preaching to the choir somewhat, after the work of K Mac, Sid and and Tony McAndrew.

Having checked last seasons results (i'm sad like that) they won 4, drew 3 and lost 2 at the end of the season. Having won 1 of their previous 12.

Be brave Randy and go for Benitez. Show that Aston Villa wants to compete. He'd have us competing for the top six within two seasons I reckon and with much less money than spunked away by MON.

Fuck no. He'd want millions just to walk through the door, millions more to waste on a bunch of talentless French and Spanish players as we pray he finds the next Torres or Alonso. Then as the heat goes up he'll be reading bollocks from scrawls on a napkin. He had a lot of resources at Inter and fucked that up. He's not a good fit for us at all.

Villa Boas for me, as he still has something to prove in the Premier League and has shown he can build a club up from within whilst competing in Europe.
