Provide a list if you want but my point is they are only one point behind us. WIGAN one point behind the VILLA THIS IS A SHAMBLES

I just  find it funny that with all your ranting about Mcleish, you put Martinez forward as a possible replacement whose results have been worse in terms of points to date. You wanted Mcleish out within a month I can't see you cutting Martinez much slack

Martinez would be welcomed with open arms and yes he would be given time to put his mark on the club. At least we wouldnt be playing for draws all the time and then losing when it all went tits up within  minutes of going a goal behind.

Martinez with a European Director of Foootball to work with him.  Martinez with a Johan Cryuff would be perfect.

Martinez has worked wonders keeping the Wigan in the Premiership every year. He deseves a crack at a top job.

Wigan have struggled for 2 reasons, they can't defend and they haven't got a goalscorer. If he was our manager, at least we would create chances for Bent, Wigan do create lots of chances.

We still wouldn't be able to defend so we would just have to try and outscore the opposition - would still prefer Lambert myself but Martinez would be acceptable

Martinez wasn't a particularly popular choice by a lot of fans I recall last time around, but of course that was before the board played its master stroke and appointed McLeish.

Now of course, in answer to the title of this thread, almost anybody who wants their team to play football.

Forgive me if I've missed something here, but exactly how do you work out Martinez is the fan's favourite?

Ideally I'd want Sir Alex Ferguson, but that's not going to happen. So, we're left with a dilemma. Randy likes his Premier League experience and someone who isn't going to want to go mad with the funds. So, we're left with a younger up & coming manager. Paul Lambert? maybe, done wonders with Norwich, is this job too big, in terms of pressure, he's not really had any expectations on him since he took the role at Norwich. He will have next season. Be interesting to see how he does. Maybe the same with Rodgers. I'd prefer Rodgers out of the two, but do they see Villa as a challenge? or a Graveyard? I can see why they'd both be tempted, but also, they're probably in a no-win situation if they came to Villa, because if they bolted us up the table, we'd only complain and say "well, this is where we should be, now show us what you've got..."

Personally, I like what Brian McDermott has done at Reading, also Nigel Adkins at Southampton, maybe even Di Matteo?

Martinez is the obvious choice. Let's go get him.

And where did I say that ? I was making the point that Martinez has spent most of the season losing week in week out
