Crikey.

I can't believe anyone would want that moron Holloway here. He who referred to us as "a half arsed club who used to be famous" all of a year and a bit ago.

If he was talking about now, he'd be on the money

If McLeish does go, it is clear that we won't be looking at the top end of the market for a replacement.  If it is passion you are after, what about Neil Lennon?  He is a decent young manager, who must surely be getting tired of all the nonsense that goes on up in Scotland.  I can't see him wanting to leave Celtic, but I think the best thing he could do is get out of that situation and get a club South of the border.  He has two ex-Villa players on his coaching staff and has plenty of experience of playing in the Premier League.

Not for me.  Not in a million years.   He's the only manager I know of that posts on Twitter for starters!

No.

Managing one of the old firm in Scotland is a sure way of getting success, you or I could have managed Celtic this season and we would have won the league. I would want to see Lennon managing a club where success isn't guaranteed before I would consider him for the Villa position.

Everytime we've employed an ex-old firm manager he's been useless or a ******, or both. Could be just coincidence but i'd rather not risk it again thank you.

Seems like he's just as unpopular South of the border as well!!  I was also going to suggest Walter Smith, but it seems ex-Old Firm managers are well and truly off the list.

But on a serious note, who are we going to be able to attract if McLeish does go?  We've got a small squad that has very little quality, there isn't a lot of money to spend and the previous two incumbents got an absloute slating off the fans.

I reckon Martinez might be worth a second nibble, especially with the rumours of he and Whelan looking to part ways this summer.

If not, I would got for a manager from the Championship with a DOF. Houllier would have been ideal for that role.

If you think Eck is bad for excuses (and he's terrible), look up some Lennon interviews. He makes Kenny Dalglish, a man who's been doing a David Icke impression this season, look like the most rational man in the world.

He does seem to have a conspiracy theory that the whole of Scottish Football is out to get Celtic and him in particular, and he's not afraid of airing that opinion in interviews!!  Saying that though, he has been through some pretty horrendous stuff so it is understandable in a way why he arrives at some of those conclusions.  I think he's a pretty talented young manager (he's certainly made some decent foreign signings since being there), but for the sake of his career and his sanity he needs to get away from all that nonsense up there.

Probably true. I think that he has started to tire of it somewhat and might be keen to leave at the end of the season.

However, I'm not sure of his abilities as a manager. Celtic seem to choke in their big games. For example, when Rangers were going through an abysmal run of form a few weeks ago Celtic had the chance to win the title at Ibrox but managed to lose the game, there was also the league cup final against Kilmarnock which they managed to lose and of course Sunday's Scottish Cup Semi. Also, his reaction to such setbacks is always that of being a completely classless wanker. He has become a very hard man to like and I say that having thought how well he came across when he first went there. He seemed like a deep thinker and an articulate guy. Now he seems like a ranting lunatic who has no class. Lastly, his Celtic side have struck me as a rudimentary football team. They have some good players (Forrest, Kayal, Ki) but I watched them earlier on this season and it struck me how poor all their players who were playing that day were on the ball. I'm not talking about a McLeish or Pulis degree of rudimentaryness but definitely around the Pubehead kind of football.

I'd be happy with Lambert if he brought Grant Holt with him as well.
