If Holloway is such a great manager, why did he get relegated? And then fail to be promoted?

Even after you've overlooked everything else about him - say, the fact that he looks like a jacket potato - the fact remains that he an unsuccessful football manager.

Maybe it makes me a set-in-my-ways dinosaur, but I don't rate him. Sorry.

jacket Potato, brilliant,  i'l never look at him in the same way now

(you are an old dinosaur by the way)

Holloway is a match for us, as for his comments when we were sniffing around Adams he was looking after his own. He knows his own mind, doesn't look for someone else to blame and if we bought into this guy he would bleed claret and blue.

You all talk tactics until your gums bleed but there is a thing to be said for a perfect match.

He could be a holte end legend.

But as I read endless posts on here you all know a lot more than me.

Holt end boy for the last 25 years.

I quite agree with you

Protecting your own? Fine

Calling Aston Villa a half arsed club that used to be famous? Not fine and saying were not good enough for Adam is insulting considering he isn't good enough for liverpoo either

Same old righteous spouting ......... oh how mighty you think we are ........................ boring boring boring ........ set in your ways dinosaur

I agree with Phil. I take pride in my club. Anyone who disrespects it to that degree can doesn't deserve a chance.

Oh take pride ermmmmmmmm ok , well lets take my years of season ticket money and the generations of villa fans in my family to one side .......... Lets keep banging our chests about pride .......... bollocks , how about lets be open minded and modern in our thinking. Can someone let me know if my message got back to 1985 and has reached Phil. Thanks

Settle down sweet cheeks!

You can be modern without picking a pillock. eg Laudrup, Martinez, Rodgers etc

Looks like a jacket potato? Funny as f..k.HaHa. Would you rate him if he was covered in beans and cheese? Or maybe a nice chilli con carne?

I get your point, though. We aren't 'too good' for anyone. It's a question of whether they're good enough to do a job for us. I know Blackpool fans love him.

The jacket potato is a half arsed manager at a club with a half arsed history, plying his trade in a half arsed league. Thanks but no thanks. No one disses the Villa and ends up with the gig.

The jacket potato is a failed manager at a club with a little history, plying his trade in a lower league.

Holloway isnt actually that bad a shout really especially when you consider he'd provide a similar footballing ethos to OGS, Martinez and Rodgers...but more importantly, he wouldnt take any shite from our senior players. I would have more faith in Holloway either getting performances or getting rid of them than any of the other candidates on the list.

edit:
...and if he does turn out to be the right man for the job, then those comments he made would long forgotten with a statement of apology followed by great performances and results on the pitch.

Albions last two managers, won champions league and England manager. They seem do know what English football is all about. We can't match yet we always think we are top dogs.
