Risso's right, it's actually an exciting prospect.

It is.

Yeah, it's definitely grown on me too.  I think it shows some balls and imagination.  Either that or they went for Lambert / Martinez and the answer was no, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and believe the first option.

Risso's right, it's actually an exciting prospect. God knows we've had few enough of them for a couple of years. Signing Bent, maybe. Albrighton's game against West Ham. And that's about it.

I'd add Gabby's hat-trick on the opening day against Man City to the list. I genuinely thought he was going to be our legendary out and out striker after that.

If we'd gone for Martinez again you can bet that twat Whelan would have let the whole world know about it!

I said yesterday if Liverpool got Martinez and we got Lambert we'd have got the better deal. OGS may be an unknown quantity, but I'd go so far as to say the same would apply. I think a lot of players would sit up and take notice.

With Lambert or OGS we'd end up with a Champions League winner at the head of affairs. With Martinez you're getting somebody who has a good track record of getting five or six good performances in a row at the end of a season. I know which I'd prefer to see at Villa Park.

You're probably right, James.

And Herd taking his totally unwarranted red card against the tescobags with such self control and dignity.  I rate that moment high in my personal player hall of fame at the cauldron of hate.

Id be hoping ogs can see gabby isnt good enough and brings in better players - most of the current lot are just not good enough and a big overhaul would be welcome.

Anyway, I don't know why but I find the prospect of appointing OGS strangely exciting.

It's a bit like finding out there's a new Swedish girl about to join your class at school.

Oh god I was so angry.

But I can remember going even more berserk when they missed the penalty ;)

OGS is the first name that we have been linked with that has actually made me think "Yeah! This could be good!", so on that basis alone he has gone to the top of my wanted list.

Not to mention he has a title under his belt, he is the kind of new-thinking, up-and-coming, exciting prospect that I've been hoping we'd be after, seems to have a good footballing vision and philosophy....

I don't know, it's a bit irrational really, but I already think I'll be disappointed if we don't go for him!

Me too, but it's still not much more than internet rumour is it? Still, can't help thinking that he'd run rings around Dunne, well ...

Everton took a risk with Moyles from Preston, thats worked out ok. OGS will certainly be an interesting move. The media will love him, which after this year would raise our profile again.  If he can bring a few nasty Vikings to play in defence, then great. Lets hope its true Villa need to do something different, and this certainly would be.
