In an act that would finally kill off any hope for McLeish being ever accepted by any living Villa fan, he will rest the entire available first team in order that they can be fresh for the Monday game with Stoke as he thinks it's more winnable.

Unfortunately I can see Liverpool having too much for us and Carroll is bound to net just as Torres did. Think we need to concentrate on the Stoke game.

Why concentrate on the Stoke game they're just as good as Liverpool, surely?  At least at Anfield the lads won't have the pressure of performing in front of a jittery Villa Park.  We have to go for the win at Anfield and the win at Villa Park. Liverpool and Stoke are two decent upper mid-table sides, no more and no less.
 Picking and choosing which games we will try our best in has got us into this situation in the first place.  Treating every match as equal and going for the win in each and every one would be the ideal approach for me.  The Holloways and McCarthys pick and choose their matches - say no more.

When I meant putting out a weakened team for Liverpool and saving players for Stoke, I was thinking along the lines of Ireland being left out and us going with a midfield 4 of Gardner-Bannan-Herd-Albrighton.

I also think Weimann might be saved for Monday as I reckon his movement will cause Stoke's back 4 problems so yes the awful prospect of Heskey lumbering around the pitch to no effect whatsoever from the first minute will probably happen again.

I can see him and Gabby being the front two.

We've taken a tonking or two in the past few years at LIverpool (with one notable exception), but I expect more of the same this Saturday. We've become the team you want to play if you're out of form.

In the home game against them we were lucky to get nil. I reckon we will be 3-0 down after about 15 minutes again like when Robbie Fowler used to score for fun against us.

Don't get me wrong I would love us to have a go at them and take them on but I do think our defence is too weak and Carroll will get plenty of service for once. Shows how low my expectations have become unfortunately...

I may be wrong but there may be some significance to this match. The media and other supporters are beginning to catch on to the fct that Villa are heading for deep trouble. Clearly we'll lose at Anfield (probably by a big margin) but this time the pressure might really be on AM and RL.

Sounds like a 2-0 defeat. After the game, Liverpool fans tell how well they finally played. That is, until they face the next opponent and they realise it was just Villa making them look proper for a while

Cuellar unlikely to be fit ...chances of a win now slimmer.

As Wigan and Qpr both beat them us losing will be major dent to out survival and would show they right now we deserve relegation really .Sad times ......

Can't see us getting anything from this. A must win for both teams, but they have the better players and we will gift them a few goals from corners, when you have a handicap like that, you make a hard job impossible.
