Fuck all the bickering and moaning, the upper Holte has been like a morgue this season.

None of us like the manager but lets get behind the lads and create an atmosphere like the old days.

Was driving between Shrewsbury and Telford when one of my sons texted this awful news to me just after 2.30 p.m.; had to stop the car as I was so shocked and upset.

Along with Gabby, Stan has been my favourite Villa player for 4/5 years and is a model professional.

Stan, you and your family will be in my prayers every day until you recover. Fight it as I know you will; everyone is behind you.

I am absolutely devastated by this. Have been in tears for the last hour or so since finding out.

He relaly is a top guy and I just hope and pray he pulls through.

Prayers for him and his family and I hope the fans show what he means to us tomorrow.

Bloody hell, I am off here for the best part of a day working and come back on expecting the usual nothing much has happened and now wish it was the usual nothing much has happened. This is awful news and to think I was sitting here feeling sorry for myself with a bit of a croaky voice and a throat infection

Just heard and I am completely shocked at the news. You can beat this Stan and all the Claret and Blue are right behind you. Got the utmost respect for you and you always come across as one of the genuine nice guys in football. Get well soon Stan  :'(
