No from me I wouldn't swap Bent for Torres both quality players but I prefer Bent.

I don't see the point of this question.

Is it just some random player from another team against a random player from our team?

Why not Dunne for Samba, or Agbonlahor for Torres, or Bent for Berbatov, or Howard for Given or whoever for whoever?

But where would Emile fit in then?

He'll have to drop into his Beckenbauer role in central defence.  Sorted.

Yes, Torres is technically fantastic and links the play better than Bent, he just needs to get away from that freak show of a club, Bents a great striker, Torres is a world class striker.

This!

Torres well be a great striker again just probably not at Stamford Bridge.

If he can't resuscitate his career at Chelsea, how's he going to do it with us, when most of the time he'll be in a different post code to the ball?

I think it's a change of club that will resuscitate his career and some club will get lucky. Like you say that fact we don't get the ball up to the front man to often might not help his resurgence.

Love this topic. I would of course go with  the swap - why not? After all Torres would love to come here and his wages are probably only equivalent to half the wage bill in total.

Meanwhile back in the real world f'Eck has been reading H&V and having given due consideration to this topic has popped down to London to do the deal. Got in a taxi at Euston and said 'Footba groond Chelsea' and ended up at The Cottage. Before you can say fat Dutchman the deal is done and we've swapped Bent for Andy Johnson. You heard it here first.....

In a heartbeat.

This. On form and confident (and away from the spotlight and the freakshow of the clubs he's been at recently) Torres is one of the most complete centre forwards in the world. Bent at his best does one thing very very well - Torres does everything.

I think Torres has to be loved has to be needed and has to feel like he is the crucial main cog in the machine, otherwise he suffers mentally, needs to get away from Chelsea.

Can you imagine Gabby Agbonlahor and Torres up front, pace, skill, creativity and goals goals goals...

To answer the question, Yes........ without doubt.

Although both can and have proven they can. But don't let that get in the way.
